“Top notch lunch”
Reviewed 5 July 2014 via mobile

Really had a great lunch here with my wife. The food was top notch with pre starters and a per dessert. The service was impeccable. The restaurant was not too busy probably about 12-14 customers. With no music the atmosphere lacked a little. That saying the decor was great.

“An 80th Birthday Celebration to Remember”
Reviewed 1 July 2014

Last Saturday my sister and I took our Mother to this restaurant for lunch. We had booked in advance and informed them that it was our Mother's 80th birthday and that we wanted it to be special and I have to say that they fulfilled that wish in every way. From the moment we walked through the door we were made to feel most welcome and all the staff were excellent. Sometimes in very smart restaurants waiters and front of house staff can be very sniffy, but not here - everyone was welcoming, helpful, knowledgeable and professional without being overly familiar. We had the three course menu for £35 which I though was excellent value. The meal could not be faulted and with an amuse bouche and other little dainties between courses we all found the meal extremely well balanced and memorable. Beautifully presented and excellently cooked I would not hesitate in recommending this restaurant. At the end of the meal they bought up my Mother hand made chocolates which we all shared and they were fantastic.

This was one of the best meals I have ever had and I will most definitely be going back there soon. thank you

“Simply the best!”
Reviewed 28 June 2014

This is without a doubt the best restaurant I have ever eaten in. The service is impeccable and the food divine. We went to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday.I am so pleased we didn't take notice of the Shropshire Star article as I believe other people have done and then cancelled their booking!

“Very good but not quite Michelin star quality.”
Reviewed 22 June 2014

Located in a fantastic building with lots of character. Warm welcome. Shown up to the 1st floor where we were offered aperitifs. Attentive service but a little lacking in atmosphere. Shown to restaurant which was great in terms of decor etc but again a little austere. All dishes were of high standard supported with a high level of service. £55 for a 3 course meal which wasn't too bad in terms of value. Not unexpectedly drinks erred on the expensive side. Total bill was £100 per head. Was it worth it? Difficult to judge

“Wonderful evening, tragic ending”
Reviewed 22 June 2014

Can not fault the amazing food and service. Marc is a superb host and the service is attentive but not fussy. Every single thing we ate was first class, from the homemade warm breads and the pre-starter (White Onion and Thyme Veloute) to the most perfectly cooked venison and lamb. All beautifully presented in such an elegant dining room. The cheeseboard was wonderful and they even managed to find me the last walnut bread roll to go with it! We even asked for a couple of recipes and they arrived by email a couple of weeks later. The wine list is very expensive - there is definitely room for improvement in the selection.

The tragic ending was a trip out of the front door onto the pavement resulting in a broken ankle! The staff rallied around with chairs and cold wine bottles as ice packs and were very kind while we waited for the ambulance.

Such a silly accident spoiled a wonderful evening - just thought a follow up call would have been nice to see how I was?
