“Good value, good quality”
Reviewed 20 March 2011

We stayed here for three nights between Christmas and new year for a change of scene and chose this hotel as it was not too far and looked the sort of place we would like. We found it met our expectations, the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was great, even a bit hot a times and the bed comfortable.

The hotel was nicely done up, with a lounge and very pleasant restaurant. The only thing lacking was a more informal bar area, but that was OK.

The food was very good as was breakfast.

All in all, if you need to stay near Ludlow we would recommend this hotel

A lovely hotel on the outskirts of Ludlow. The welcome by the owner was very warm and friendly. The room was beautifully furnished and very comfortable. We were shown to our room by the owner, who then offered to bring fresh milk and home made biscuits to the room. I would have loved to be staying for more than one night! We didn't eat in the restaurant - it had an excellent reputation but did seem quite expensive for a mid week meal. I imagine it would have been lovely if it had been an occasion Whilst the hotel is very close to Ludlow, its a little far to walk in on a dark evening, so we drove to a local pub for food. We did however enjoy a glass of wine in the very comfortable lounge when we got back!

We spent an amazing 3 nights at the Fishmore Hall and weren't disappointed. When we arrived we found that we had been upgraded so when we were shown our room we were so lucky. The room was huge with a lovely individual modern feel. The bed was big and very comfortable and the bathroom gorgeous with double ended, double shower cubicle and plenty of molton brown toiletries.
The hotel was located on the outskirts of Ludlow at the top of a hill. The footpath was unlit and narrow into town but was walkable.
The service was warm, friendly and professional with the staff going out of their way to ensure everything was to your liking.
Breakfast was delicious with a choice of cereals, hams, fruit, a gorgeous bread basket inc pastries and cooked to order items including eggs benedict, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs and smoked haddock as well as full English.
The special touches of bath robes, slippers, bottled water, fresh milk and homemade shortbread and chocolate chip cookies were lovely.
Would definitely recommend this hotel and looking forward to our next stay

Very pleasant and professional welcome and service. Rooms were well decorated and very comfortable. Bathroom was modern and everything worked well, perhaps the wet-room could cause a few problems to the less agile.
Gardens were not very big although work was in progress there.Plenty of parking available.
We had a bargain break which was excellent value for money. Breakfasts were exceptional, plenty of choice and very good food. Service was very attentive and friendly. The only criticism regarding food is that £39 for a two course dinnerl is rather ambitious, more people would dine in if the price was reduced.
It's quite a walk into Ludlow so a car is desirable.
All in all we enjoyed our stay very much.

We stayed here for 1 night in early December and left feeling we were very unwelcome. There was only one other couple staying and yet the service was very poor.
We arrived and rang the bell on the desk, but no one appeared. Eventually we went searching and found a member of staff. We were shown to the room which I will admit was very nicely appointed.
Breakfast was again a wait for staff to appear and a wait for a very small breakfast to appear. We had to ask for more coffee and orange juice because it was apparent no more was going to arrive.
But I think the overalll impression of the place is that the staff do no more than their job requires. There is no hello, how are you, did you sleep well, did you enjoy your evening, what are you plans today, etc because they don't care! This is an hospitality business that doesn't seem to understand the meaning of hospitality!!!!! Would we go back - no. Would we recommend - no, there must be better places in Ludlow

Make sure you either have a Sat Nav or a good human navigator as it is a little difficult to find.Plenty of car parking space
Receptionist efficient and pleasant.
Rooms well appointed , good size , good central heating, nice shower ( no bath ) , nice toiletries, TV , plenty of hangers . Nice big bed , I slept well , partner found bed a bit hard.
Comfortable lounge .
Dining room spacious so not crammed up with everyone. Food enjoyable, local , well cooked and presented . Service efficient and polite but lacking a certain charm.
Breakfast good selection and cooked to order.
On the expensive side, a la carte dinner with a bottle of wine ,bed and breakfast came to nearly £250
