At the third change of room would conclude rooms ok although could have been cleaner. Had specifically requested quiet room but got one facing the road. Second room had obvioulsy had someone smoking in it the night before. Finally ended up with the family room. Bed comfortable which is really important for me. On site gym is in fact 3 peices of CV equipment in a converted bedroom so don't expect too much. Breakfast fine although agree with other reviewers that the very loud Sky news is not really what everyone wants when they first get up. Staff helpful and friendly. Shrewsbury is a lovely town to visit.

The worst thing about the Hampton by Hilton is trying to find the place! I had a good idea of where it was (just off the A5) but my SatNav decided I had arrived whilst on a roundabout in a business park! Fortunately, I got there without mishap and was more than pleased to find excellent parking. The welcome was first class, and the room quite spacious and well-appointed. The only problem I really had was a musty smell on the main corridor off the reception area, which was still there when I returned from a meal out some two hours later.

The staff were more than happy to arrange a taxi for me (and their prices are also some of the cheapest I've ever encountered) to the town centre, even agreeing wholeheartedly with my choice of restaurant!

An "all you can eat" buffet breakfast is included and is quite good. I wouldn't go as far as excellent, but given the overall value I was more than satisfied with the quality and quantity. The free newspaper was also good, providing a welcome diversion from the TV as this was showing Sky news, presented by one of my least favourite TV people!!

Overall, I would recommend this hotel (and chain).

This is a good clean hotel with very comfy beds, fantastic showers and most reasonable 'help yoursel'f breakfasts. The hotel does not boast to be luxurious, but suits persons on business needing a bed, and singles, couples and families looking for a medium budget hotel whilst visiting the area. Shrewsbury is a very interesting medieval town to visit and this is a good hotel in which to stay for that purpose. This has been our second visit and we will certainly book again. We found the staff to be most friendly and efficient.

The room itself was excellent:clean , large and free wi fi. Stayed for just one night with family and thoroughly enjoyed Shrewsbury , rich in history and so well preserved. Sadly the lasting memory of this place is the surly man on duty who rather than saying "good morning" told us breakfast finishes at 10 , as we appeared at 09:58 thinking breakfast was served until 10:30 . Ok our mistake but this guy had no social grace and made no effort at all to minimise our disappointment. A simple " I am sorry about that" would have made a big difference. In fact this place left me feeling just like a name and not a person to be processed at check out. Cheap room but it is people who ultimately shape the experience.

A pleasant stay in this modern hotel but a long walk into town. Situated in a business park. The staff were friendly and helpful. My only gripe would be that the dining room for breakfast felt a bit cramped and sky news was on at quite loud volume. Free Today newspaper. I would recommend it

I stayed here for 1 mid week night. I paid a very reasonable £42 room rate which included breakfast and internet access. Staff were helpful and friendly. The room was clean, modern and of a good size. Parking was plentiful and free. Food was available for evening meals as well as breakfast.
Its quite a small but functional hotel and I was happy to have stayed here. Thumbs up from me.

This is a business hotel on a business park on the edge of Shrewsbury. It is also popular with tourists and visitors at weekends. We stayed Saturday night for a family party in Shrewsbury, having previously been very unimpressed with the quality of hotels in central Shrewsbury. For the price (£50 double room inc breakfast) it is exceptional in quality and value. The restaurant and bar area are a bit "Premiere Inn", but the rooms are large with very comfortable beds and brilliant showers (no baths I think).
