We stayed 24-27th January 2014 at Windy Mundy Farm. Initial impressions were that this is an impressive estate, commanding the prices it requests. Great for a big group with children.
The buildings are quirky and we all loved the central fire in the main living area, and the dual massive dining tables. the kitchen was well stocked and the dishwasher a welcome assistant for a big group. The break however came with 3 extras we could have done without.
Our guests in bedroom B had to sleep on the sofas as there was an animal trapped scratching behind the bedroom wall behind their bed (I guess this can happen anywhere).
The big doors to the main area leak and towels were required to stem damage to the wood flooring and to mop up.
Late on our 2nd night I discovered that our bedroom carpet had been eaten and had what I believe to her clothes moth larvae all around the corners and side. Unfortunately by the time we discovered this, out clothes, the dogs bed etc had been on the floor.
The owner has subsequently been contacted and states a new carpet was ordered 2 weeks ago and its just "mites" and that I was not inconvenienced. I not would let a property like this but. I'm now having the joy of washing clothes at 60 degrees & dry cleaning the rest that I have fearing I may infest my home. No refund from the owner or apology has been given.
Great place if you take away the moth larvae/mites, water and hidden creature!
