We stayed here for two nights with four friends. All thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Faultless service from delightful staff. Clean, modern, simply furnished, comfortable rooms. Central location with free parking. Really good breakfast with lots of choice and all freshly cooked. Great restaurant for dinner too. Thoroughly recommend this charming hotel.

Not much from the outside, but enter this very central hotel in Shrewsbury and you will definately enjoy your stay. The decor has been well thought out and has a lovely rustic charm. The room was very comfortable and the stay was topped off with a superb breakfast; a full range of choice to select from and courteous efficient service. The only down side to the Lion and Pheasant is the extremely narrow entrance to the car park - beware entering and exiting the main street.

What a fabulous time we had at The Lion & Pheasant last weekend (28 September); the venue for my Daughter’s Wedding. We could not have been looked after any better by the staff who were, without exception, brilliant! Our Wedding Breakfast for 28 people took place in the beautiful Crystal Room. We had access the afternoon before to add our decorations and flowers with any requests for assistance dealt with quickly and efficiently. We had some technical issues with the sound system not recognising our i-pod and so our chosen playlist for the day looked to be in jeopardy but the problem was taken on without fuss and resolved within the hour – resulting in one very happy Bride and Groom.

We were so lucky to have beautiful weather on the day and so were able to have pre-lunch drinks in the lovely courtyard garden which was a fabulous extra photo opportunity we were not expecting.

The hotel is a great mix of original features with quirky, contemporary additions and decor which add up to a really lovely boutique venue. It is centrally situated in Shrewsbury so an ideal location to explore the town, which we will be doing when we visit again. I do find it quite strange that other guests have mentioned the traffic noise as a negative against the hotel – maybe check the location before you book? If you want to be woken up with birdsong, there are plenty of hotels in the local rolling countryside to choose from! We had an impromptu get-together on the Sunday morning before we all set off to our various parts of the UK and bacon sandwiches and coffee appeared within minutes which was a lovely end to our lovely weekend.
We were made to feel so welcome and everyone at the hotel went above and beyond to make the Wedding a day to remember for all the right reasons. Thank You!

Stayed here for a weekend recently and left happy.
The room was relatively small by modern standards but was comfortable and clean.
We ate in the restaurant on both nights and enjoyed the food and the staff were attentive with a smile on their face.
Good location for exploring the town and the only drawback is the small and cramped car park at the back accessed through a narrow arch.
Not cheap but you get what you pay for.

We stayed for one night in this 'boutique' hotel and would recommend it. The room was nice, very white and shabby chic in style, large bathroom. The room was on the roadside which was a shame but the hotel did provide earplugs but unfortunately we couldn't open the window and we did get a bit hot in the room. Breakfast very good. We had a meal in the restaurant at night which was very good indeed - good service, the girls employed are literally run off their feet. Would definitely return.

Room Tip: not on the road side of the hotel

Our room was at the back and free of road noise. Nice hotel but rather expensive. On our second night had to sit in our room as bar areas full to the brim from private parties, so a disappointment when paying guests cannot get a seat. Meals very expensive and breakfast average. Our room was nice, clean and well equipped.

This is a nice hotel near the English Bridge. A 10 minute down hill walk from the train station and 5 minute walk to the high street shops. This hotel is a 17th century building with a lovely comtempary country interior. We had a nice comfortable stay. The hotel has a nice bar (open to the public) along with an outdoor garden. There is a car park to the rear of the hotel with pubs. restaurants and shops on your door step. Along with some lovely craft shops nearby. I would highly recommend this hotel and I would return one day.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back look onto the car park, Rooms at the front look onto the main road and river/bridg...
