Tried the Glutton Club for our wedding anniversary having seen good reviews. We were not disappointed as the food, service and value for money were absolutely excellent. We had 3 courses each and all were superb. Value for money also very good given the quality of produce and cuisine.

We went here as a large group for a family occasion and from start to finish the experience was fantastic.

The young staff were attentive, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and very comfortably laid-back whilst being a model of efficiency.

The food was all imaginative, well prepared and excellent. The trio of lamb for starters was particularly popular, but the asparagus with poached egg was also perfectly cooked, as were the mussels.

From the mains, the rib of beef (for 2, freshly and beautifully cooked) was the the most succulent beef I've tasted is ages. The rump steaks were equally good although the one single glitch was that a very rare and a medium were accidentally swapped and our friends had started eating before they realised. Unfortunately it was the last of the steak and the mistake couldn't be rectified, but an alternative or free dessert was immediately offered with genuine apologies. The pulled jerk pork was divine.

I couldn't manage pudding, but those who did found the quality matched the rest of the meal. I sampled the cheese - imaginative and good.

We attacked the wine list with vigour and it was all reasonably priced and good.

This was the best meal I've eaten in Shrewsbury and I would be surprised if the Glutton Club doesn't soon hit top of the rankings.

Outstanding.

Birthday celebration meal so the four of us were gonna have the works. Amazing char grilled olives and freshly made sour bread whilst we perused the menus. A free bottle of house red as a mid week offer, the fourth member of our group didn't drink red wine so was given a glass of rose on the house to make up for it. We all chose different starters , the gin and tonic cured trout with a fennel salad was so light and fresh and out of this world,my trio of lamb was an absolute delight ,the souffle was delicious and the baked Camembert which came with more toasted sour dough bread was a mountain of food for a starter but was cooked to perfection. 2 of us went for the Slow cooked pork belly and it just fell to pieces, underneath it had hidden away garden vegetables ,it was a master piece. 2 of us went for rump of beef ,requested medium rare and it was cooked to perfection and cut like a knife through butter,it came with thrice cooked chips and a rocket salad. just the right amount of everything. Of course everything was thoroughly taste tested by all present and voted totally delicious. We all getting rather full by now but managed to overcome this feeling after a short rest and chose from a small but delectable pudding menu. I must say my chocolate fondant served with home made vanilla ice cream was one of the best I have ever tasted and I did have one complaint that i could have done with more ice cream with it. Anouska said she would happily of bought more to the table had i asked. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable evening made even better by the unobtrusive but friendly and interested and knowledgeable service.I would like to add that whilst we were trying to make our minds up initially the chef actually came out of the kitchen and answered all our questions about the menu and really helped us make our minds up.We will most definitely be returning and soon. thank you to the glutton club for a fabulous meal.

Four of us went to The Glutton Club for a joint birthday meal. We had roasted olives (wow!) and homemade sourdough bread, a free(!) bottle of wine, starters, all of which were excellent and had us moaning with delight as we sampled each other's, main course (the steak was the best I have ever eaten), we all had to have pudding (again, superb!) as the food was so wonderful, more wine, coffee's etc, and the bill was £35 per head, VALUE FOR EXCELLENCE! Service was friendly without being fussy - the entire experience was an absolute delight! I will definitely be visiting again.

We were visiting Shrewsbury for the weekend and booked this place due to the excellent reviews. We were not disappointed as the food and service were excellent. We had booked a table online but there had been a mix up as this was not registered and it was a busy Saturday night and the restaurant full. We were offered a number of solutions but we decided to wait for a suitable table which was not a problem as the atmosphere was very cosy with a lovely relaxing waiting area at the front of the restaurant. The staff were very apologetic and offered us free olives, bread and drinks whilst we waited. After a very enjoyable wait a lovely spacious table was offered to us. The staff were very attentive, food was really tasty and after 2 courses we were completely full which was a shame for us as the desserts looked delicious.

Overall the food was excellent and the service exceptional and we would recommend this restaurant highly.
