Excellent food, served by very helpful and friendly staff. If you've got deep pockets or want to splash out this is the place.

“The finesse of The Glutton Club.”
Reviewed 8 June 2014

The name was unusual enough to draw our curiosity & we were not disappointed.
Not only did the food look wonderful but tasted superb. I had the most amazing starter of squid stuffed with pearl barley, black pudding & subtly flavoured with preserved lemon. I then had a slow cooked pork with the best dauphinoise potato which had a herby hazelnut crust. My wife had a beautifully presented bruchetta with wonderful flavours followed by asparagus risotto. As luck would have it I got the last but one treacle & lemon flavoured tart which was to die for.
The service was relaxed & welcoming carried out by two ladies who appeared proud & knowledgeable of the food they served. At under £40 a head including wine for food of this quality was a bargain. We wish them the best of luck in their enterprise

Thank you so much for your fantastic review. Im so please that every course you and your wife had you thoroughly enjoyed, a lot of effort goes into each dish and i'm so pleased you recognised this. You were very lucky to get the last Treacle tart, they are very popular. Thank you for wishing us luck, we look forward to seeing you and your wife again.

Many thanks

“Another Great Meal at The Glutton Club”
Reviewed 25 May 2014

It had been a while since we'd been to the Glutton Club but went there last night for our anniversary. We were not disappointed and felt that, if anything, they have upped their game (quite tough as it was up there anyway), especially on the desserts. The menu has enough choice all the way through and each dish is thought through and delicious. Service, as ever, was attentive and very pleasant. This really is Shrewsbury's finest.

We had 3 courses each, cocktails, 2 bottles of Picpoul and coffee - total bill about £100.

“A Hidden Gem”
Reviewed 24 May 2014

Went with my wife for our anniversary following numerous recommendations and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is cosy and fairly informal, which is essential when there's just the two of you.

The food was the best we've had in years, we couldn't find fault with it, beautifully presented, amazing taste and portion sizes were just right. The service was very good too, the waitress being attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu.

My only complaint - it was Friday night and the place was empty! This restaurant should be packed every night. It's not even as expensive as you might think, with three courses, a bottle of wine and a couple of drinks coming in at £100, it was worth every penny.

“A real treat that won,t cost the earth.”
Reviewed 23 May 2014

We were visiting the theatre and fell on the Glutton Club by chance and we were delighted that we did. It has laid back approach to fine food dinning which in a way makes it more relaxing. It hss a set Menu with a good choice and priced at a reasonable £17.50 for 2 courses or £21.00 for 3 courses. The food was cooked to a very good standard and the service was excellent. The restaurant is not plush but it is clean and smart. The couple who run it told us that they started the business as a pop up enterprise and never expected to be there 18 months. If they keep up the standard of our meals they will be there a long time.
