“Excellent cottage, friendly host”
Reviewed 2 April 2017 for a stay in March 2017

When I arrived, Maria had provided me with tea, milk and cake which was a kind gesture. The cottage is just like the photos and set in lovely surroundings looking out to the Shropshire hills. The lounge is light and gets the afternoon sun. Maria is a very friendly and helpful host. I recommend Wisteria Cottage and would stay here again.

“A home away from home”
Reviewed 11 June 2016 for a stay in May 2016

Location:
- The ultimate quiet getaway with nothing but green fields, country lanes and beautiful hills for miles around. Ideal spot for a peaceful break away from the hustle and bustle.
- If you like walking or hiking, Carding Mill Valley and the Long Mynd are a 10 minute drive away at Church Stretton with trails set out for all abilities whether a casual stroll or a hike up the Shropshire Hills. One of the moderate trails will take you up to a tranquil and beautiful waterfall or take an easier stroll to see the Reservoir.
- There is a little village pub "The Fox" just behind the cottage which serves lovely food and is a very short walk - 1 minute if you doodle. The pub does not cause any noise interference either.
- A short drive from an outdoor shopping park including a Sainsbury's, Boots, Next etc.

Accommodation:
- Wisteria Cottages are set within the gated grounds of Wisteria House. The two cottages adjoin and a parking space per cottage is allocated.
- Cottage A is a self catering, one bedroom, fully equipped, home away from home. The bedroom offers wardrobe and draw space complete with hangers, as well as a comfortable double bed, arm chair and ample side space. The bathroom is large with bath/shower combined, toilet, basin and bidet - towels are provided. The lounge/diner/kitchen is an open plan space offering a sofa and armchair, small TV, table for 2 and as fully equipped kitchen including fridge, dish washer, oven, kettle, toaster etc. you couldn't need for more!! There is also hallway storage for suitcases, hiking equipment etc. and a iron and board enclosed within. Finally the cottage offers a small patio out front with table and chairs perfect for enjoying the serenity of the surrounding countryside....you might even see a bunny hopping about the garden or Maria's grass robot!

Service:
- By far the best part about this stay was Maria. A welcoming and caring lady who pays the right amount of attention and is always on hand whenever you need advice relating to the cottage, surrounding areas or things to do. A real delight.
- We arrived late on a Friday night after travelling 5 hours from work and Maria was waiting for us on arrival. She gave us a brief tour of the cottage, set us up on wifi and showed us to the complimentary tea, coffee, milk which saw us through to the morning. Maria also baked us some lovely cupcakes on our penultimate day which was a lovely touch!
- Directions to the cottage were great, and Maria also messaged to check we had a safe journey home.

Our stay at Wisteria Holiday Cottages was overall a very enjoyable one. The cottage was spacious, very clean, adequately fitted out and had an excellent shower. The owner, Maria, prolvided milk, tea, coffee and a bottle of wine to welcome us, which was a nice touch. She also was extremely responsive and helpful when we had a couple of minor requests (to turn up the heating and to help with WiFi access, both of which she resolved promptly).

It was nice to meet you both, and sorry that the heating was not adequate on your arrival, unfortunately the weekend you were here the weather was extremely cold for the time of the year but glad you enjoyed your few days in Shropshire.
