The location of the Riverside Inn is superb, the pub sits on the bend of the River Severn and has one of the most stunning beer gardens in the county. You can see the point to point at Eyton from the garden and on a sunny day there are few places nicer to stop for a drink. It's just one heck of a shame about everything else. The food is dreadful and what is worse they make no apology for it. The location has several times on a sunny day persuaded me to stay for lunch and every time I have sworn I would not be conned again, a very upset stomach last time sealed the deal and I have not returned. It is expensive for what you get and what you get is less than average in quality/cooking skill. The owner is just plain rude and some of the staff have obviously learned about customer service from him. I don't expect pub staff to behave as though they are doing you a favour by pouring you a drink.

From the moment we arrived, we were treaded extremely well and made to feel very welcome. The view from our room (room 1) was excellent - you can see right down the river, with nothing around to spoil the view.

The staff are great too - very helpful and polite even though we were a lot younger than their "target audience", which needless to say is one mature in years.

Great food too - good hearty food, great taste with no pretentiousness.

Overall, fantastic place, a great base to explore Shropshire and surrounding areas - much better than we anticipated.
