This was our 3rd stay at the County as we are Season owners and receive a hefty discounted rate. Each time we have been given a different room and whilst room 22 is adequate, for a 4 night stay it is cramped as there is no where to put your luggage. The bed was lovely and soft with good bed linen and whilst you do get tea and coffee no biscuits and no sachets of hot choc, a little bit stingy really. The shower room was adequate with big towels provided. During our 4 night stay the maids only made the bed and replenished the coffee, the shower was not cleaned which might be why mould is appearing, neither was the room vacuumed.. Room 22 is at the very top so you do feel fitter at the end of the week. We did not use the bar or have breakfast as there are so many other lovely places which can easily reached on foot.
Have no worries about leaving your key, we came home regularly after midnight and the cheerful night porter was always there to greet us.

Room Tip: When booking ask for a room a the back as the front ones do suffer from road noise.

Stayed for 1 night October, receptionists very helpful, allowed to park in the hotel car park in the morning before check in to spend the day in Bath, we then checked in around 5.00pm, room was nicely decorated, soft bed, yes it was very warm but we opened the sash windows and it soon cooled. Room had toiletries, tea making facilities, hairdryer, towels and tv with built in DVD (this was a standard room) the room was very small (just enough room for 1 person to walk around the bed) but apart from this I can't fault the accommodation. Breakfast is both continental buffet and cooked, vegetarian option available, very nice food. We checked out at 11.00am but again was allowed to leave our car all day to return to Bath for the day. Location is good only 10 mins walk to Bath, exit hotel turn left then left again and you come to Pulteney Bridge. I would recommend visiting the Roman Baths, queues are horrendous so buy your tickets from the Tourist Centre right near the Baths and you can bypass the queue, brilliant! Otherwise you will be queuing for well over an hour. Costume museum was disappointing and not worth the trek. You must visit Sally Lunn Bun Shop, huge buns that you can have savoury or sweet (I had clotted cream and Jam) I couldn't eat it all it was huge, price approx £6.50 with Tea. Loads of places to eat in Bath. The Abbey tower tour was great and you get a few rests on the way up the 212 steps, you also get to see the bells and how they work. I loved Bath more than York in fact, enjoy!

Room Tip: Only negative is the standard room size, you may want to upgrade for more space. No lift but it does...

The County is a good hotel in a good position for all the sights, and the big bonus is car parking in its' own grounds. Small but comfortable rooms with the rooms at the rear facing the abbey and rec. Would stay here again any time.

Room Tip: Rear facing rooms favourite and choose first floor as there is no lift and the stairs are steep.

The room was comfortable and well appointed without being luxurious. The breakfast was of excellent quality with a good choice of dishes. The hotel is within easy walking distance of all the major attractions. My room was on the top floor which involved a number of flights of stairs. No problem for me, but those with difficulty in managing stairs, should request a room on a lower floor.
The staff were extremely helpful and professional.

We had a long weekend at the County and were not dissappointed. The location is great the staff really helpful and friendly. The rooms are on the small side but very clean and the bathroom though small was again very clean. Rooms at the front are somewhat noisy with the traffic as if it was a very warm weekend and had to have the windows open. Overall a great weekend.

We spent 2 nights here at the start of October and had a really nice stay. We were in room 18 which is at the top of the hotel and quite small but we knew this about the hotel before booking. The stairs are fairly steep but as a young(ish!) couple we saw it as an opportunity to eat more as we would get a little work out at the end!! The free parking is fantastic and we didn't use the car at all. The staff are helpful and very friendly. The hotel is spotless and the bedding good quality. The bar area is quiet but nice place for a drink before heading to town with a walk across the river. A great stay and would definitely book at The County again.

Clean well appointed room. Very helpful staff. Good choices for breakfast and plenty of food! Very quiet and disappointing if you want to enjoy a drink at the bar. This is practically empty of guests. Would be good if some form of Bar food was available
Perfect location for visiting the City - easy walking distance into the centre. We didn't use our car all weekend.
Very pleasant visit.

Room Tip: no lift available so ask for first floor room if stairs are a problem.
