Truly the nicest place we have stayed in England. Every detail is carefully covered to make you feel welcomed and at home. The rooms are tastefully decorated sympathetically to the house. Our room ( in the Austen wing) was quiet with a lovely view of the scenic square. It is conveniently located near the Roman baths, the abbey, shopping, and restaurants. The walk from the train or bus station is very pleasant through a large period-style shopping plaza. The breakfast was delicious and locally sourced. The jams and jellies were locally made, the fresh sourdough toast is from a baker in the neighborhood, and the selection of breakfast options was outstanding.
It is a period house so there are stairways, but this just adds to the charm. The owners are fabulous and really treat you well. We would definitely stay again.More
