“What a welcome”
Reviewed 6 May 2014

We had a lovely family break here over Easter . The family room was on the ground floor which is always handy with children and the rooms were bigger than expected and extremely comfortable.
Gia and his team made us so very welcome and not to mention the best breakfast we have had in a while . The Bircher muesli is a must . The property really is walking distance from everything worth seeing in Bath (even for children) we would highly recommend this property to anyone visiting Bath . We all loved it .

My partner and I stayed at 2 Crescent Gardens for three nights over the easter period. Giacomo has done a great job of updating the accommodation and the decoration is contemporary and tasteful. Although our room was a little small, it was perfectly big enough for a short stay. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bed linen of a very high quality. The en suite had a shower and it would have been nice to have a bath as well but that's not a big deal for us. The entire room and bathroom were immaculately clean. We both slept very well and the location was surprisingly quiet considering how close it is to the town centre. An excellent breakfast each morning. the location is excellent for exploring Bath on foot. I would recommend 2 Crescent Gardens to anyone visiting Bath for a long weekend.

We stayed for one night in Bath, and it was the perfect place to spend the night; the en-suite room was tidy and clean, with complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits available. Within walking distance to the station, that was a big plus. Had we stayed longer, we might have found the room a bit too small - just one chair for the two of us - but it was perfect for the cause. Also, there's a beautiful drawing room to share when entering the building which we could have used. Lovely breakfast in the morning, great choice of fresh food prepared by very friendly and considerate hosts. Would always come here again and can easily recommend it.

We will definitely stay here again when in Bath. Very tastefully furnished large room (we had the superior room on the first floor), and there is a lounge downstairs for guests' use. En-suite shower room with a window which is a bonus. Really good cooked breakfast (my partner had the full English and I had hummus on bread with fresh avocado and poached egg). A short flat walk to the City Centre, and we were given parking on-site behind the house. Thank you Giacomo.

Giacomo has done a great job in renovating the house and running the B&B; he is welcoming and attentive. We had the front room on the first floor and while a bit concerned with the noise from the street when we arrived (which is a bit busier than expected) we had no trouble having a very good night of sleep: comfy bed and pillows and actually no noise from the street. Not only that, but breakfast is fabulous with made to order menu of the day which included scrambled eggs, poached eggs with avocado and humus, and bircher muesli. I totally recommend staying at the 2 Crescent Gardens. It's close to downtown Bath and worth the walk which allows you to discover a few quaint places along the way that are off the beaten path. Thank you Giacomo for the fantastic stay we had in Bath!

Room Tip: We had no problem with sleeping in the room facing the street.

We stayed for 2 nights in the Superior King room. The room itself was clean and tastefully decorated (apart from a random Mona Lisa picture on the wall!), The bed was lovely and comfortable , though the two chairs in the room were particularly uncomfortable, which was a shame. Also the TV was fixed on the wall to the side of the bed which meant it was almost impossible to watch whilst sitting on the bed. Suggest putting in on a bracket that swings out so that it can be moved to a better angle.
The bathroom was compact but had all that we needed for a couple of nights. Could have done with a bigger shelf to put wash bags on.
The owner seemed to be a pleasant man, although we didn't really get to know him at all - he does not live at the property and we only met him very briefly when we checked in, and on our final morning at breakfast. This is the main reason I did not score the B&B more highly, as when we visit a B&B we like to get to know, and interact with, the owners. 2 Crescent Gardens is all just a bit impersonal for our preference.
Breakfast was a choice of "full" English - but was lacking beans, sausages, hash browns etc. Or you could have scrambled egg and smoked salmon, which my husband said was nice. There was a limited selection of fruit, cereal and pre-packaged pastries. The only fruit juice on offer was orange juice.
The B&B is very well located for a short walk into all the shops and attractions (10 mins), but do pre-book parking before you arrive as it is limited and the public car park charges a lot for overnight parking.
