We last ate here four years ago and adored it, and have to say it's lost something. There's no menu on their website, and remembering the wonderful offerings we tasted previously, we took a chance, but were disappointed to find a very short and limited menu (desserts particularly boring, and nothing with chocolate!). We had three courses, and mostly the food was well-presented and nicely cooked, though my lamb was almost raw rather than pink and consequently very chewy. My daughter's risotto arrived without the poached egg, and the ice cream came without the shortbread. As there were only two other couples dining at the time, the service could have been better.
We love the ambience of the dining room, which is an old masonic hall; it's comfortable, and the food and drink are quite good value for money. We were disappointed by the staff's inability to get a taxi for us after the meal, or even find us the Yellow Pages for us to do it ourselves (my daughter found it in a desk at the unattended reception).
I doubt we shall return.
