Sam Wellers looks great and feels traditional but its staff and food (depending on what you get) are awful!
Upon entering we were bluntly asked if we were eating and upon answering yes we were coldly directed to a table by someone that looked to be angry at our arrival. After asking for my meat medium to well-done it come out virtually uncooked and had to be returned. The waitress showed very little interest in our custom and in general was rude and grumpy.
The rest of the food seemed to be at a good quality but couldnt be enjoyed because we felt uncomfortable and unwanted.
Given the nature of hospitality you would think they would be more friendly and open to visitors.
Wouldnt recommend.

Stumbled across this place whilst looking for somewhere to eat one evening whilst staying in Bath, not familiar with the area, the menu looked tempting and reasonably priced so we gave it a go.

Bar staff couldn't have been friendlier very helpful and welcoming, we opted for a sharing platter and whitebait and food came out promptly was piping hot and absolutely delicious and a very good portion, very nicely presented, the side salad was lovely and fresh and crisp (so many places seem to fall down with this minor detail!) all in all a fabulous place would certainly go back.

Popped in for lunch, we wanted something traditional and simple. Staff were super friendly and nice. We had local lager and burgers. Food arrived quickly and tbh it was the best burger we've eaten in a long long time. Good size portions, reasonably priced - we paid 26 quid in total. Clean, pleasant, will definitely come back!

Whilst out on the town on a Saturday night, we popped in here for some food and a pint. This pub offers standard pub food at a reasonable price. All of our food was tasty - the portions were very generous too.

We really enjoyed our meal and I would happily recommend this place to anyone looking for standard pub fare.
