“A true english pub”
Reviewed 28 October 2012 via mobile

A real spit and sawdust pub, the food looked great but we did not have time to pig out.

The ale is very well kept with a mix of local and national brews. There was also a good cider menu. A friend stated it had not changed in 20 years which only adds to the charm of the place. Also has seats outside if the weather is good.

“Yummy Roasts!”
Reviewed 31 December 2011

I would highly recommend the Pulteney for their Sunday roasts - really delicious, and it varies each week on the veg side so it's always a nice surprise.
The food in the week is not quite as good but still tasty and good value for money.

“A classic of English pubs”
Reviewed 30 October 2011

What can be said about the Pulteney Arms, it's a classic, it's famous as a rugby pub and as such it has great beer, good service and a great atmosphere.
