Description: Roughly translated from Sardinian, Aio' means come and join us, it's an appropriate title for one of Bath's most welcoming restaurants. Currently the only restaurant in the South West specialising in Sardinian cuisine, Aio', on George Street is close to the Assembly Rooms and The Circus, is a unique dining proposition, providing Bath's gastronomes with an opportunity to step outside of the Italian comfort zone. A modern interior inspired by the warm tones and natural materials of a traditional trattoria leads through to a suntrap courtyard just made for enjoying Aio's summery cuisine.

We eat out in Bath roughly once per week and finally got round to trying Aio. We arrived early on a Friday evening and the restaurant was quite empty but filled up as we ate. Every Italian does their variation on antipasta these days but this was one of the best, good selection of meats, cheese and other nibbles served on carta di musica. My crab linguine was excellent, loaded with crab, clean and fresh tasting not like some places that add creme to this dish which I dislike. We finished with affogato, coffee and (a nice touch) free digestivo. Service was friendly and very efficient. Worth seeking this place out.

We arrived to meet friends, with whom we had shared many happy meals in Sardinia and first impressions were excellent, smiling faces a waitress who was happy and efficient,we ordered and wine, water and olives with Sardinian music bread arrived, our orders taken and we waited and waited and waited, some more olives were brought to sooth the wait,we waited and at last our first course arrived, good but not worth the wait,we waited another bottle of wine came and we waited some more,we felt we could have flown to Italy and had a meal in the time it took to serve this meal, although my rabbit with olives, the grilled lamb and the crab linguine served to others were fine. But the Lasagne was a complete disaster and the slow, slow service took the shine of the whole evening. The couple at the next table were incandescent so were giving shots of Lemon Chello, why not us we asked their regulars we were told! We won't be.

Staff are really friend and happy to help and advise when asked. The food was very well cooked and I enjoyed ever mouth full. At no point were we rushed, which is great as we like to take a few hours over lunch. Next time I visit Bath plan to go back and enjoy with friends

We liked the location and the atmosphere inside this restaurant and the staff who took our booking were very helpful. We booked at lunchtime and it was busy so we thought a good sign. Unfortunately when we arrived at 7.15 pm it was quiet and we took a nice table. The menu was extensive and we had been recommended to eat here because of the good fish but due to the busy lunch session there was no fish left on the menu! However, what we had was very good indeed and we would try it again but only if there was sufficient fish left!
