We stayed in the Buccleuch Suite during a good weather period and found the hotel location to be ideal for seeing Bath. The Hotel was clean, quiet and relaxing, just what we wanted. Good food, attentive and helpful staff with good attitude. We will be staying there again - soon we hope !

My wife and I adored this Hotel, We stayed in the Argyle room with a lovely view over the courtyard terrace. Room was Spacious, large Bed, Digital TV with Freeview and T ea/Coffee Facilities, built in wardrobe with convenient light. 2 big fluffy Bathrobes. Bathroom was lovely with a large roll top bath and power shower over. Heated Towel Rail and fluffy towels with Complimentary toiletries. Hotel supplied a parking permit for our car which covered our stay, parking in Bath is a nightmare - you have been warned!. The hotel were also kind enough to allow the use of the permit for a few hours after we checked out, so we could go ino the Roman Baths. Breakfast was pleasant with a buffet of selected cereals, juices, pastries and yoghurts. A full english breakfast with Toast and Tea or coffee tasted great. 2 x Bacon, Sausage, 2 poached eggs, tomato, fired mushrooms and mini black puddin'. The buidling is grade 1 listed and is beautiful.
The location is ideal, it takes 10mins max to wallk to the Abbey, Baths, Thermae Spa, crossing Puteney Bridge on the way, ignore any review from people sayiing it's in a poor location..., bath rugby and croquest club is yards from the Hotel!
We will definatley be staying again...

My cousin and I stayed at Duke's last year during a road trip through the Cotswolds.

The room was very comfortable.
Nice size, considering I was travelling with my cousin.
The bathroom was good. More private than most.

The only issue was climbing all those steps to get to our room which was on the top floor, as I was pregnant at the time. (Most older English buildings don't have elevators.)
The front desk manager was, however, kind enough to help us with our HUGE bags. We also got a parking permit and parked right outside the hotel.

The service was very good.

The location is perfect. It's a short and pleasant walk to the city centre. The "hop on and off bus" also has a stop which is very close by.

I loved Bath. Just found the Thermae baths to be overrated.

I'd stay at Duke's again.

My boyfriend and I spent New Year's Eve in Bath and plumped for Dukes Hotel. I know Bath well, having spent three years at university there, so opted for this hotel due to its location on one of the most beautiful streets in the city. From the moment we arrived, the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, and we were even offered an upgrade – which we gratefully accepted on clocking the huge suite with stunning sleigh bed. Can't recommend this hotel more highly – and the breakfast was a triumph.

We decided to visit bath on the last minute, hotel availability was virtually nil; however, The Dukes Hotel was able to accommodate us. The booking reception were efficient, parking permit was provided, and on arrival the pleasant receptionist upgraded us to a suite.
The hotel is situated on a main road but quiet at night, we slept soundly. The location was ideal, just a five minute walk into the centre. Only visiting for one night we decided to eat in the hotel restaurant, the cuisine was excellent, although i got the 'tail end' of the sea bass :).

Whilst my other half was visiting a business exhibition I attended the famous spa on the sunday morning, this was very busy probably because of Christmas Shopping. £22 entrance plus robe, plus towel (one only) and if you required treatments, forget it unless you book weeks ahead.

Found the pub of the year though, quaint, tiny pub with guest ales, could have stayed all afternoon...'The Old Green Tree'.

This is a very pleasant hotel in a great location. On checking in, our room was upgraded from a standard double to a deluxe room. It was spacious and comfortable (Argyll) although the bathroom was a little stuffy as it had no windows and poor steam extraction - could have been a problem if had been hotter. The hair drier was missing but we were brought a replacement immediately. The girls in reception are very pleasant and helpful.
Breakfast was good with a reasonable selection for a small hotel. Yet again the staff were friendly and helpful bringing plenty of tea and toast.
The dining room is small and lacking a little in atmosphere so we choose to dine out in the evening. The location is perfect for the town centre and an evening out (we would highly recommend Raphaels in Trim Street).
We had an excellent stay here and would defintely use it again. The only negative is parking - even though you are given a permit, after quite a long journey it is a pain circling around searching for a suitable spot and as it may not be that close do drop bags off first!

We booked the Dukes for 1 night and had a room for 3 on the top floor. As we checked in early we left our suitcases and left to look around Bath ( which we absolutely loved). It was pleasant to find on our return all 4 suitcases had been taken up the 6 flights of stairs to our room!

We were very pleased with the room, nice furnishings, TV's, bathroom products etc. Breakfast was delicious and we found the staff to be more than attentive. Location is excellent, very close to town centre yet no noise.

Very pleasant stay, we would stay again.
