This is the place to stay when visiting Bath.
It's 5-star and within walking distance of the centre of the city.
Our room was spotless and the hotel's spa facilities are second to none, especially the small heated pool which extends outside into the grounds.
The quality of food was excellent and the whole feel of the place is luxury.
We've stayed here on numerous occasions and never been disappointed.
You won't be either!

We had a lovely sunday night stay at the Bath Spa Hotel, very welcoming at reception, our classic double had been upgraded to a four poster room in the original part of the building. The standard of the room, furnishings and the toiletries were definitely 5 star, the hotel is a short walk into the city centre which has a wide choice of alternate eateries. We were very impressed by the professional, efficient service at our breakfast and a vast array of high quality buffet items which were continually replenished by friendly staff, a couple of real characters too! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing break with great food and service in luxurious surroundings, and lovely grounds.

We booked our 2 night stay via a hotel booking site. When we got the price we rang the hotel to see if they could match the price. The receptionist I spoke to virtually argued that the price I had managed to find didn't exsist -this was the start.
When we arrived I asked if there were any upgrades, which I do in any hotel, and was told, "well I've already checked you in now!!'. So that was out of the question! THe reception staff were generally cold and unfriendly which is not a good start to any stay.
We had one drink in the bar - the empty, atmospheric LESS bar, it was £14.80 for a vodka!!! It was a double measure but please come on! This just screams you are being ripped off. They did oblige with a half measure when I asked but the mixer cost £2.00 so the vodka and diet coke cost nearly £10. Which is quite ridiculous.
The rooms are fine, nothing special compared to any other hotel. The Concierge staff couldn't have been more helpful if they tried which is one saving grace.
I wouldn't recommend this hotel - it is overpriced for what you get, the reception staff make you feel like an interruption to their job not the reason for it, and the bar is massively over priced.

i have stayed a lots of 5 star hotels and this is NOT a 5 star hotel. scruffy, tired and very poor service. they are typically british in their defense of a poor hotel.
they are completely anti kids so even if you get a £29 weekend break dont take the kids
the beds are dirty, the rooms need paiting - the staff need a good bath and clean uniforms
the spa is always full so book your spa treatment 2 years ahead if you are going to risk staying
great building and good location for bath
food very average and they charge you £5 to park on top of the £500 per night!
also - the air con in the rooms doesnt work and when pointed out we got a quick fire reply to suggest it was air cooling not air conditioning and so won't cool the room. EH?!?!?!?!?!?!

We went there for my friend's Birthday - just relaxing weekend. The hotel is very quiet, nice location and beautiful surrounding. Very close to the city center if you want to go out, otherwise the restaurant in the hotel is brilliant - a bit expensive but you know what are you paying for - very posh. We had very good deal.

From arrival we were looked after and were made very welcome. We were given a tour of the facilities when our luggage was taken straight to our room, the tour provided us with all the information we required in a professional and very friendly manner. As it was part of our honeymonn we were treated with a glass of champagne and some nibbles. The room was outstanding and very posh, we were very impressed. Steve, the leisure club manager had organised a spa taster day for us. The planning was perfect as we had breakfast followed by a rest in the pool, lunch (very nice) then a perfect body massage. This made us feel very relaxed (to the extent we fell a sleep by the outdoor pool) and just capped off an excellent couple of days. We would be back as an anniversary present to our selves. Thank you to all staff that made our little break so perfect.

A great start to the w/e with a warm reception from the front desk. It took a little while to enter the room...small issue with the key fobs. They had to be re-programmed twice, and then one did not work. Given we paid a premium, and rightly so given the facilities, I was a little disappointed to be told that WiFi access would be a further £10 especially given the hotel sits in a reception black spot. A shame given Starbucks offer this free, globally.

We thought about dinner at the smart Vellore restaurant but decided against it once I found out there was a no denim policy. So we ended up at a lovely French bistro off Queen Sqr, Beaujolais. Excellent food, wine and ambience.

The thing about w/e's away is you do not want to be disturbed before check out. We were extremely surprised to have a door knock at 10am requesting a mini bar inspection ... bizarre and for what point. Added to that the late check out extension that was granted was not adhered to. All in all we left with a slight bad taste...a pity since Leslie and Sue were fabulous in the spa.....
