“Good location, excellent service”

Spent just one night here. Standard double room was spacious with a super mega sized bed, also room had a window which opens. Bathroom also large with bath, shower over and bidet. Towels and slippers provided for use to and from the spa. Irons and ironing board in the room. The spa area is good and was not crowded, sadly the infrared too was not working when we were there. If you want treatments suggest you phone in advance to book as mostly booked up for weekends. I'd
like to see a better system for water in the spa and pool area, yes there is a water tap but no cups so you either use it as a water fit rain or cup your hands - neither of which really gets you sufficient. Pool was empty 8am so easy to have a good half hour swim. It is divided for lane swimmers so should be OK at other times too. Loved the bar and excellent cocktail service (Mohitos are great), relaxing atmosphere and friendly staff without being in your face. We did not use the restaurant so can not comment on the food but it looked very busy. Breakfast had all you could want and the hot options were cooked to order - always nicer than congealed eggs on a heater!! Set us up well for the day. It is an easy walk into Bath from the hotel and for shopping and/or eating. Really wish hotels of this standard wouldn't charge £5 for parking though - much better to put it in the room rate somehow.

I stayed in the hotel for 4 nights in June on business. Rooms are spacious and clean and the hotel offers free wifi. The restaurant had nice buffet meals, beit for breakfast or lunch (I did not have dinner in the hotel).
Our meeting room on the first day was good, the one on the second day as well, although facilities were not optimal at first. The LCD projector had odd colours and the screen fell over. Also there was no sound available. All of these were quockly resolved however by the friendly hotel staff.
One of the nicest features of this hotel in my view is the bar, which is tuly what a hotel bar should be like: cosy, with comfortable chairs to lounge in and lots of old wooden panelling on the walls. You don't find such hotel bars that often these days anymore.
The location is good, up a steep 10m walk from downtown.
When visiting Bath in future, I would seriously consider going there again, even for personal leisure.

Spent two nights at the hotel as a last minute booking. Mentioned that it was our Silver Wedding anniversary and found ourselves upgraded to a four-poster suite, with complimentary champagne and chocolates. All of the staff, without exception, were extremely friendly (in a genuinely natural way rather than any put-on falseness). The breakfast was absolutely top-notch; you'd think that a "full English" breakfast can't be messed-up but we've stayed in plenty of hotels which show that it can. The "signature MacDonald breakfast" really hit the mark, especially with the Stornoway Black Pudding which was to die for. Only adverse comment is that the air con in the room lacked any real capability to cool the room, and why do all hotels insist on the air con automatically switching off at midnight meaning a sweltering night in bed unless you get up and switch it back on?
Location of the hotel is perfect with just a 10 minute walk through Bath's beautiful streets (the walk is through a lovely park and then along Great Poultney Street; which is an attraction in itself).

We stayed in the Bath Spa hotel for the weekend in July. From the moment we arrived the staff were very attentive, friendly and polite. We stayed in a garden room that looked newly refurbished. It was v comfortable with a fabulous marble bathroom.
Breakfast, although a little pricey, was plentiful and well cooked.
We used the spa facilities and had a very enjoyable few hours in the steam rooms, ice room and hot tub. Unfortunately we couldn't get in the pool as it was full of families.
Only downside is the extra charge for parking. At £5 a day it seems a bit of a pointless charge and only serves to annoy.
That aside it was a wonderful stay and highly recommended.

Such an amazing place, the staff were very helpful & nothing was too much trouble. Room service was always delivered prompt and with a smile. The facilities are amazing and the treatments are relaxing and such a credit to the place.
Cannot wait to return.

I booked 2 nights at the hotel for myself & my husband for his birthday. I was a little nervous about the trip as I had seen some very mixed reviews that had been posted recently.
My fears were completely allayed.
The hotel was wonderful, The (upgraded) room was stunning, the food to die for with a HUGE selection of breakfast items and a wonderful dinner, but best of all was the spa.
2 pools, Jacuzzi, 2 saunas, steam room, ice room & salt room.
We also had treatments in the spa that were fabulous and in a beautiful environment.
The staff were all fantastic. Personable, friendly, helpful without being too pushy. They even found my glasses when i stupidly lost them.
it was a magical stay & we will definitely be back.
Am still a little confused by other bad reviews.

Booked this place as birthday treat for my fiancé but instantly regretted after they took my money over the phone and then decided to tell me that the building has scaffolding around it. It took over 50 minutes to book what I though was something quite simple with someone who put me on hold over 10 times! I then rang the hotel to make sure my booking was okay where they told me with the room I booked I wouldn't see any of the scaffolding which when I got there my whole view just scaffolding. Promised on the website canapés on arrival but didn't get them. The staff are unfriendly and couldn't care less. I proviso ally booked afternoon tea, dinner and champagne but when I got there told them i didn't want it as id much rather spend my money elsewhere rather than the hotel to be hit with a bill at the end of my stay charging me for all the things we didn't do for over £300! And the spa treatments are a rip off!! Overall avoid this place. Bath is such a beautiful city..don't let this place ruin your visit!
