Stayed here last winter when visiting the Christmas market in Bath. I cannot remember the room number we had, but it was on the top floor and was superb. It had a fantastic bathroom with a luxurious free-standing bath in the middle of the room and lighting which could be dimmed, and double doors in to the bedroom. The bay window in the bedroom went from the floor to the ceiling and had wonderful views over Bath. The breakfast and rest of the B&B (which is very old and full of character) was excellent.

Parking was on the street which was not ideal but not a problem, and it is up a fairly steep hill in what looks like an area of student accommodation – again though not a problem, didn’t hear any noise at night.

Me and my partner loved it here and would definitely return.

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL PLACE! it was a real joy to find a hotel that comes up to my sometimes over critical ways. The rooms were superb and spotless with fantastic views over the city, the breakfast was delicious and a real treat. Our three night stay was perfect for my other halfs 40th birthday, welcoming staff and gold stars to the chambermaids. We would certainly return but perhaps in warmer weather!!

This bed and breakfast was our first stop on a 3 week vacation and it did not disappoint. It was everything we were hoping for - charming, clean, well located to town, excellent breakfast with accomodating and helpful staff. Twice we came down to breakfast a little early due to tour or train demands and they were very nice about serving us a lilttle ahead of schedule.

Room size is very adequate. Bathrooms are on the small side, but not a problem. The view out the window from the living room/breakfast area is amazing.

The walk uphill when returning from town is a little steep, but certainly doable. We didn't have any issue with it.

Overall, a wonderful start to our trip.

We spent 5 nights at this charming B&B. It lived up to our expectations and more. We, my wife and I stayed in room7, which is two rooms knocked into one, and the only room on the first floor, having the advantage of windows at both ends. The bed part overlooks the quiet cul de sac, with a great view of the trees opposite, and the living room window overlooks part of the huge, breathtakingly beautiful garden and the Bath skyline, where in the early morning you can spot the coloured hot air ballons rising from the Victoria park. Our five nights went in a flash and we reccomend the Mad Max day trip to the Cotswalds.
The management is a husband and wife team, both young, delightful and very helpfull, Glyn knows how to cook 5 star breakfasts too. If you are a cat lover you'll fall in love with George.
THe trip by foot down to the town was an easy ten minute stroll, while back up from the begining of Holloway to Number 86 was an easy 5 minutes for the wife(early sixties), while I (early seventies) took 6 minutes, its great for the cardio- vascular system too.

My partner and I have just returned from 2 nights here.

From the moment we arrived, we received a warm welcome. Staff were helpful and friendly, ordering taxis and recommending restaurants. The breakfasts were lovely, with a choice of cooked breakfasts to order, cereals, fruit, juices, tea, coffee and toast. It's not for the late risers, with breakfast finishing at 9.30am.

We stayed in Room 1 - the deluxe 4 poster suite. The room wasn't the largest we've stayed in, but clean and very comfortable. The bed was lovely and the bathroom excellent with a jacuzzi bath, over bath shower and Molton Brown toiletries. The water was always piping hot!

The room had a gorgeous cast iron fireplace - for display only - and small TV, tea and coffee making facilities and a hair dryer. There were also 2 chairs and a coffee table.

As previous reviewers have mentioned, there's no a/c, but we were fine with the windows open, even in unusual 30 degree heat. The house is in a residential area, but we didn't experience any noise, even with the open windows facing the street.

The garden is amazing, well looked after, with fantastic views over Bath. You really wouldn't know you were in a residential area. A jug of Pimms in the garden after a day's sightseeing was perfect.

The location was great - a 5 minute walk, or £4.50 taxi ride from town. The hill is steep, but not off putting, even for someone as unfit as myself!

The restaurants they recommended were superb - the Moon and Sixpence and the Fishworks. Best to book in advance to avoid disappointment. When the hotel emailed our confirmation, they gave us this information then. Very helpful.

It's not the cheapest place I've ever stayed, but worth evry penny.

We stayed at this lovely little hotel in July 2006 for two nights. It is well deserving of its five diamond rating. We stayed in room 7 which had a little seating area as well as twin beds in the bedroom part, but the only view is a rooftop. The view from the other window at the front is of trees on a steep slope. The soft furnishings are very stylish, the room and bathroom were both spotlessly clean, and a fan had been thoughtfully provided (we were in the middle of an extreme heatwave). A tiny negative is that the pillows were hard but I always take one of my own anyway.

Yes, the hotel is in a residential area but it’s about 7 minutes to walk into town and coming back the hill isn’t that much of a problem unless you’re elderly or infirm. We had windows open because of the heat but weren’t bothered by any noise (apart from a Westlife open air concert in the centre of town!).

On arrival we were given a tray of tea and sat in the beautiful garden with it’s stunning views over Bath, including the Royal Crescent.

Breakfast was beautifully cooked with quality ingredients. One night we asked for a couple of glasses of milk for which we expected to have to pay, but we did not have to. We paid £110 per night for the room which I did not think excessive given the time of year, quality of the rooms, the service, comfort and good quality breakfast.

Yes the floorboards squeak! Get real – this hotel is probably older than America!

This was our first visit to Bath. The Bizarre Bath Comedy Walk was one of the highlights – if you have a wacky sense of humour don’t miss this tour. There’s a leaftlet for this and many other places of interest in the hotel.

My wife and I arrived at the Paradise Hotel late on Firday evening for our first wedding anniversary and were greated by the owner (who's name escapes me). Even though we arrived at around 10pm he still took the time to talk us through the hotels features, some of the sites that bath had to offer and he remembered that it was our anniversary and offered us a complementary bottle of champagne. The room rate was no more than you would expect to pay for the hotel and the breakfast wonderful. We were only a 10 minute walk from the city center although the walk back took twice as long due to the massive hill the hotel sits on. We both enjoyed bath and can recommend the boat trip around the city, we would not recommend eating at Browns. The food was awful, the service no better and the restaurant was crowded. I would recommend the Paradise Hotel to anyone who asks and it is so refreshing to see such attention to detail in a hotel.
