Went to the Rustico Bistro in Bath. Menu looked thoroughly authentic & it was. Sat outside with a lovely breeze watching the cook cook in a proper Italian small kitchen in front of everyone. The food was delicious with real depth & taste. I'm not a big pasta fan but I ordered the chicken in a creamy sauce & didn't stop until it was all gone.....it was that good. My partner is a 'foodie' & loved it & I wouldn't think twice about going back. Genuinely nice people.....sat next to the owners daughter who had a fantastic bowl of ice cream (lucky girl). Go & see this place. Small menu obut the food is superb & the wine menu is even better. Viva Rustico!!!

A really excellent little Italian bistro, just around the corner from the Royal Crescent. At first glance Rustico could seem a little less polished in appearance than some of the other local restaurants - it's red and yellow exterior gives it the air of a cafe rather than a restaurant...but don't be fooled!

The menu is proper Italian fare, and on our visit included Boar Sausage with Cannelini beans, Octopus pasta and salads, aubergine "meatballs"....all very authentic, as confirmed by my Italian wife who said that the Octopus pasta she had was the best she'd ever eaten outside her Grandmas - high praise indeed from an Italian! My grilled marinated steak served on a rocket salad was just melt in the mouth and soooo tasty with char - simply delicious.

You know you're onto a good thing with an Italian restaurant, when come 8 o'clock - every table outside is taken by Italians!

The only downside would be the relatively small size and hence table availability. There are a few tables outside, but inside looks pretty cosy and close. Definitely book on a Friday or Saturday night, and if you're seated inside - it looks pretty cosy!

Overall - highly, highly recommended. One of the nicest and most authentic meals we've eaten in a long time, and great value for money too.

Delicious food in traditional style, the steak served on a bed of rocket is excellent, possibly the best steak anywhere. Service is friendly and the atmosphere good. Well worth a visit.

This is a small restaurant, so you have to be willing to sit close to other diners. That said the atmosphere is lovely - friendly, welcoming and jolly, and the food is very good. I had the wild boar sausage as a starter, which was delicious and the accompaniment of cannelloni beans and toast went very well. I chose the fish special - grilled pieces of salmon, swordfish and tuna, served with a tasty salad. The fish was nicely done (I seem to have suffered from quite a lot of overcooked fish recently at other restaurants, but not at Rustico, where everything was moist and delicious). Slightly off the beaten track, but in a lovely part of Bath, and well worth seeking out. Prices are very reasonable too.

Me & my girlfriend come here for our anniversary and couldn't have been happier with it.We couldn't choose what starters to have so we had 3,the wild boar sausage, cold pork belly and calamari they was all superb (wild boar in particular). For mains we had the pork fillet with Parma ham and the lasagne with cheese & ham which was the best we've had.The wine menu had a lot of variety and the service was very friendly. All this at a very reasonable price. All in all absolutely faultless and will be coming again on our next visit to Bath.
