This is a hotel of two halves. The pictures of the rooms on the website do not portray what they look like in reality. There is no lounge or bar. In our party, some of the rooms were lovely, the others were not. In the poor rooms the baths can be described as, "a big sink with a tap over it!" demand a garden room.

Room Tip: Demand a Garden Room

For once I got it right. I found this gem of a guest house and booked it for one night. You can't top it's location and beautiful building. . It's minutes from the city centre. And they have a parking permit to use at a cost of £8 per day. Well worth it. A quaint guest house with very attentive staff. You could even control the heating in the rooms. Radiators and Air Con. So as warm or cool as you liked. Breakfast was lovely freshly cooked full breakfast. I know as you can see into the kitchen. It really is like being a guest in someone's home.

As I was running in the Bath Half Marathon I booked to stay in the Windsor on Saturday evening before the race. The hotel is very close to the start/finish line which worked perfectly. I must say that the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff is incredible. They could not have been nicer or more obliging, arranging a shower and something to eat when I came back after the race, at no additional charge. My single room was perfectly adequate and spotlessly clean. It's just a short walk across the bridge into the centre of town. I'd highly recommend a stay at this hotel.

Thank you so much for your review. We all love the weekend of the marathon with all you super -fit runners putting us to shame!. I am so pleased you were happy with our fabulous location on the start line and we were only too happy to provide a room for you to shower in on your return and to offer you a little sustenance after the race. I hope your time was good and hope to see you next year if you are running again.

My partner and I visited the Hotel for a long weekend in March and could not fault it. The service from beginning to end was wonderful, they rung us before hand to warn the us the half marathon was the same weekend and to help accommodate our car. They organised flowers to be waiting in our room, throughout our stay they were so helpful and lovely which was a great additional touch to the weekend. We stayed in the Pultney room which was gorgeous and comfy couldn't fault it, it was on the top floor which had a few stairs so maybe not ideal for people who don't like stairs. Location couldnt be any better for exploring town and the food was great.

All in all a fantastic stay!

Thank you for your review. We are delighted that you enjoyed all those aspects of your stay with us.
We do believe that the personal touch makes all the difference and the girls in housekeeping and reception really do work hard to enhance all experiences.
