Although everything was as clean and comfortable as other reviewers suggest, the hotel could do with a bit of TLC, as some of the decor is looking a bit shabby. The location is the real highlight - a gorgeous old building in a lovely street just moments away from the shops, restaurants and river. Service was adequate, but the slightly odd reception arrangement isn't really conducive to a warm welcome. Nice to have breakfast included, and it was of a good standard, and I also liked the good quality bathroom products, but at £120 for our double room I wouldn't hurry back.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. There are some small ares within the building that could do with some TLC and those are being addressed as we speak and on an on-going basis. WE have just received another 5-ster grading which takes all aspects of the decor, service and facilities into account. You will also find that our prices are always in-line, and more often than not, much cheaper than other accommodation providers nearby; you could get a cheaper room on the outskirts of Bath but would spend a fortune on taxis getting you to and from the city centre.

I stayed for one night in this lovely Edwardian building, just a stopover really rather than an actual holiday. The Windsor is beautifully decorated and the staff were the most polite and helpful I have encountered. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was spotlessly clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. I stayed in a single room on the top floor and unfortunately, there was no lift. This won't be a problem if you are fit, I'm not, that last flight of stairs was a real killer!! Thankfully, there was air conditioning, which was brilliant. The shower cubicle was very small and a bit awkward and I'm afraid I didn't like the toiletries, they smelled cheap and nasty, but the little en-suite was pretty and the towels were fat and fluffy and very, very white. Also, there was a decanter of water, which was a lovely touch, as well as the usual tea/coffee making facilities. Breakfast was very good. I can recommend the Muesli, the homemade fruit compote and most definitely the 'Eggs Royale', absolutely delicious. I would definitely stay here again, although not on the top floor. It is in a very handy place to access the main part of Bath, making the main attractions such as the Abbey, the Thermae Spa and the Roman Baths very accessible within a five minute stroll. You do get charged extra for a permit to park your car, on the street, and spaces are taken quite quickly but it wasn't too bad.

Room Tip: If you're not very fit, opt for either first or second floor.

Thank you for your long and detailed review. Firstly, we are delighted that you found the staff the best you have ever encountered, the girls really enjoy what they do and are always only too happy to go the extra mile to make your stay a good one. Thank you too for listing your appreciation of our traditional style decor and the high levels of cleanliness and comfort you found in your room. You are right in saying there is no lift, we are a Grade 1 Listed building and even if we desired a lift, would never get permission to install one. You are right too, the air con helps! The toiletries are produced by a famous English company called Gilchrist and Soames, they are certainly not on the budget side but are a luxury we feel our guests deserve. Sorry you didn't like them, that is a first. Our linen and towels are all brand new this summer so are extremely soft and fluffy, thanks for noticing. We hope to see you again soon.

The Windsor is so handy for walking into Bath. Very helpful and nice staff. Lovely, comfortable stay. Good value for the money with a nice breakfast to boot. I was really concerned about parking, but we managed to park almost right outside, just had to use a parking permit which was £12 for our 24 hr stay.

We arrived at the hotel, delighted to find it is little more than a two minute walk to the center off Bath. Our room Was very nice, and quite spacious. A tv with freeview, and one of the staff in particular, although they all are, was very attentive and polite.

Room Tip: All the rooms are good, but the orchard and Windsor rooms provide a great view of the street if they...

This is a great guesthouse in Bath - in a quiet street but very near the city centre for the Roman baths, museums etc. Our 4 poster ensuite room was superb and both duty managers we dealt with were very professional and went that extra mile to make sure that we were happy e.g. printed weather reports and a list of the local restaurants. The cooked breakfast was tasty too.

Room Tip: For those who never read the access statements on websites this is a Listed Building so it is not ac...

Thank you for taking the time to review us. We are so happy you enjoyed your stay with us. Although the views to the back of the building are beautiful, we would be very happy for you to visit again to sample the amazing views to the front over the famous Great Pulteney St! Stayed here in May with my family of 5, it was a perfect location, easy walk to all the sights,
Rooms were beautifully furnished and spacious, breakfast was delicious, and staff were lovely!
They were great with the children-all under 7yrs!, and even returned our lost Teddy to us-in Australia!
Definitely highly recommend this hotel.
