This so called hotel (it's a B&B really and a bad one at that) is a total rip off. As you walk through the doors and see the awful 2 bright red and gold chairs it gives you a clue as to the rest of the place (sorry I can't refer to it as a hotel). There were 2 of us and we paid £105 each for single B&B and was told we had a four poster bed each. The bed was old and not very inviting, along with the carpet, the stupid chair and just about everything else in the room. The bathroom had a hideous toilet seat that was so loose I would not sit on it. There were no toiletries except a soap dispenser fixed on the wall like the ones you get in public toilets and the shower was pathetic.
We were told breakfast was at 7:30 and that suited us as we wanted an early start. We got to the, over the top in bright red, dining room at 7:30 and there was no sign of breakfast and not even a good morning from the staff. 7:45 and still no breakfast as they were just setting it up. When we asked about breakfast we were told, by very rude staff, it was not ready. We left very unhappy without any breakfast. I would like to add that I was not really looking forward to breakfast in this place anyhow.
I almost forgot to add there is a swimming pool here but it is out of use in the middle of summer and very dirty.

When we pulled up in the car park the nets were filthy, on arrival we read a sign stating the pool was out of order, however we could pay £12 to use the hot tub. We checked this with the Manager, he confirmed the pool was out of order then asked for the payment for our stay. Once we saw our room we knew why, it was in the basement, dirty, dingy with a view of a wall, cracked sink, musty bedding, he was making sure we paid in order that we couldn't leave without losing our expensive payment. When leaving we raised our concerns with the manager and asked for a refund, he refused this. We will be putting forward a formal complaint and taking this further as it is being mis sold as it is nothing like the description provided and has 2 AA stars.

If I could give this place less than one star I would. An uncomfortable bed in a bleak room, no dresser, no a/c, no amenities at all. We tried speaking to the manager to get at least a partial refund for checking out early (the reservation was pre-paid). They were unaccommodating on every level and I imagine the only way they get business is to trick unsuspecting travelers looking online and then keep the money when the travelers arrive and realize what a dump it is. Terrible.

In July the pool was closed and was an algae cesspool.
The hot tub required a per person and per hour fee.
The staff was rude.
Worst hotel I have ever stayed in.
The staff refused to allow us to even see the room before we had paid in full. Then refused any refund at all.

The hotel was easy to find although a bit of a trek uphill to get there from the station. but the view of Bath on the way up was beautiful. The Man at reception was friendly and helpful.
Our room was a little tired looking and needed a lick of paint... and some net curtains! it overlooked the car park and the dining hall so didn't feel very private and we needed to keep the curtains drawn which was a shame.
The site said 'toiletries provided' i took this to mean shampoo and conditioner, neither of which was in our bathroom so had to buy some in town.
Breakfast was nice and they had a lot of choice as well as a fry up. all in all not bad but not great

We booked this without looking on trip advisor. We were worried..but gentleman who does front of house was helpful and approachable. We walked into town from here and walked back..the first few hills were fun! The room was calm colours, the bathroom was very clean. It was also very quiet which can be a problem staying in Bath. We stayed in room 22 and we're pleased. Breakfast service and food was excellent. It's a two star, seemed expensive at first but in comparison to £160 we're glad we chose here with plenty of parking.

Stayed in this hotel having seen it on Trip Adviser. There was a swimming pool advertised. The pool was out of use as the maintenance men were still adding chemicals, it would be ready for the end of the week. On looking at the pool it was covered almost however the water was green and it was full of creatures swimming. The room we were allocated was in the basement: it was absolutely filthy. We left our belongings and spent the day and evening in Bath. The shower and sink were so dirty we did not use them. There was that much dust in the room I wrote on top of the wardrobe. The bed was broken and squeeked at every movement The mattress was probably about 20 years old and the pillows were yellow stained. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Room Tip: Book in any other hotel rather than this one
