“Amazing prices and great hospitality!”
Reviewed 25 June 2009

Wentworth House was amazingly priced. We expected to pay much more in bath. Full English Breakfast was delicious! About a 10/15 min walk to town centre - downhill on the way there and uphill on way back so some guests may require a taxi back. The rooms were basic but we had all we needed for 2 nights away (TV, shower). We booked a standard room but they gave us a 4-poster bed. Hotel staff were so helpful and friendly. Couldn't fault this hotel at all. Hotel has a pool and hot tub which we didn't use in Feb but would be great in the summer!

if you stay here make sure you dont stay in room 10, holes in the ceiling and bathroom walls, t.v doesnt work properly, shower has no pressure. Breakfast was average and you have to make the toast yourself, which was good because i wouldnt have realised the the bread was mouldy otherwise. The pool was out of use and the receptionist was miserable. For the price i paid i expected a higher standard than what i got , i think £30 would be a fair price for a night in this place

Having booked what 'looked' like a pleasant B&B in Bath to celebrate an anniversary, the place definitely did not live up to expectations! In fact, it was shoddy, tired and in need of an overhaul. Public loo type paper sheets instead of loo roll, shower that trickled, and breakfast with 'Happy Shopper' yoghurts, undercooked black pudding and cheap ketchup put into Heinz bottles!
All in all, awful! Won't be staying again!

My partner had booked a double room for a Saturday night and as we would be arriving late instructions were given to us as a key was to be collected from the front of the builiding. After collecting our key we entered our room only to find someone was already in the room. We contacted the telephone number that we had but got no answer so we stayed in the empty twin room across the hall believing that there had been a mix up with the rooms. In the morning we had a very loud knock at the door and opened it only to be greeted by a police officer. Apparently the guests in what was originally our room had been so terrified that they left it till the morning to contact the police and it was a member of staff on reception that believed we had broken in to the building. I believe that opening a front door with a key that has been left for you and then going to sleep in one of the rooms is certainly a very unsuccessful break in. They girl at reception then denied that we attempted to contact them when we found our room occupied however luckily my partner had the number saved in his call list on his phone. They also could not explain why they had left us a key but then gave our room to someone else. This was an incredibly humiliating experience and we did not even receive and apology from the member of staff even after the police officer had said she was happy we had done nothing wrong. I will never visit this hotel again and would urge others to do the same. Terrible service, poor quality accomodation and staff that call the police when they can't get over their own incompetence.

This was a spur of the moment one night stay and i am glad we only stayed the one night. The room was ok but a miss mash of furniture and decor. The bathroom although big ,lacked a bath and the shower did not look very clean. The reception on the TV was dreaadful. As we were a little late down to breakfast , our table had not properly been laid up with cutlery etc and some of the breakfast items were no longer available. the cooked breakfast was not very appetising and rather cold. Also , you had to pay for your room on arrival. We will not be going back there.
