I stayed for 5 nights and it was very clean and comfortable. It is in a good location and the staff were very friendly. It is managed by a couple who were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent and there was always fresh cut fruit in the morning. It is located around 10 mins walk (downhill) from the train station and has very good links to the university. (the bus stop was a 5 min walk). Would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Room at top of the house was very bright but would be a little too small if it were for 2 people.

Stayed at Dorian House in mid-June, and I'm not sure I'd go back. The price is right, but not terribly much cheaper than other places in town. It photographs very well, but in person, it seems just slightly frayed around the edges (worn carpets, leaky showers, etc). They do overlook the Royal Crescent, as advertised, but you'll need good eyes, because you're looking from quite some distance across the train tracks and up the opposite hillside. It's a pleasant enough walk to the baths, cathedral and so forth, but for the same price, you could be right in the middle of everything. Breakfast is reputed to be quite good, but I can't say from personal experience. Upon check-in we were told breakfast lasted until 10 a.m., but when we came downstairs the next morning at precisely 9:33, the waitress informed us, "You've missed cooked breakfast, unfortunately." We helped ourselves to the leftover granola and muffins ... then stumbled across a Krispy Kreme doughnut shop on that 20-minute walk to the Royal Crescent.

I stayed for one night with my partner and we loved it. In a city with pretty highly-priced accommodation this was a very reasonable rate for what you get: a lovely comfy four-poster bed, excellent breakfast with a huge choice including vegetarian/ vegan, a big claw-footed bath in the room as well as the ensuite shower, attentive, helpful and friendly staff. My partner had already stayed there and I wasn't disappointed with what I found.

As people have said it's a little bit of a walk up the hill from town but it's not arduous. I'd definitely stay here again and found it a memorable experience.

I can't say enough good things about the Dorian House. The room was beautiful, the owner was friendly, and breakfast was unexpectedly excellent (they offered a full English breakfast cooked to order and a wide variety of pastries, fruit, and cereal). It's not in the center of town, but the walk in doesn't take long (about 10 minutes). I'll definitely stay here again when I return to Bath!

Stayed here in 1 night in June, found the deal on laterooms.com (as usual), advertised an en-suite double room for £59/night in this 5* guest house!

You just know that when the AA have a ranked it a 5* guest house it cannot be bad! And it wasn't, it was excellent! This was fantastic value for money, the whole theme of the place is about classical music, we had room number 10, "Rossini" I think it was called or something like that, clearly name after a classical piece of music. The room is on the ground floor with a view on the garden obviously the cheapest room they have but to be expected when it's half price!

The bed in the room was VERY comfortable, so comfortable that i fell asleep watching France - England match (just as well turns out I didn't miss much!) The en-suite was very nice, a bit surprised the place didn't have a bath however the shower was very nice and I prefer showers anyway.

Breakfast was included and this was the cherry on the cake! It was amazing, just perfect, couldn't of been done any better. Latest check-out time was 11 better than most places where it's 10.

Now the only downsides were the following: Kettle was old and needed changing, the wifi was terrible and for a 5* guest house you expect Sky Tv and not freeview. However put those things aside and this is an excellent place to stay, standard price for the room we stayed in was £110/night, I wouldn't pay that much because of the wifi and tv but still brilliant for £59!!!

I recommend this place and can't wait to stay here again!
