What a beautiful hotel. The warm welcome, the amazing four poster bed in the fantastic room with ye olde furniture, the humorous young gentleman who shared our sense of humour, the 10 minute walk into the centre....we cannot praise any more. If you want a luxury, with great breakfast and access to Bath's finest this is the place for you.

The staff was incredible, nothing was a problem for them, they were always there when we needed. Actually a step ahead. The rooms were spacious except for the roof that I always hit when I had to pick up something near the TV. Robert, the manager was always ready to help and indicate the attractions

What a gem we found. Finding accomodation for a party of 8 wasn't easy but this discovery was excellent. Rory and Rochelle look after this beautiful homely house and its guests with such care and attention.Nothing was too much trouble for them. As a group we arrived at different times but they didn't delay putting the kettle on for any of us.The rooms are all individual and furnished to a high standard. Breakfast was stunning with a table laden with fruit and cereals and Rochelle cooked the best "full english" we have had in ages. We would highly recommend a stay here. You will not be disappointed

We arranged to meet friends who were visiting the UK in Bath and all stayed at this lovely B&B. We were welcomed on our arrival and shown to our elegant room with a four poster bed and slipper bath (big enough for 2!) in the bedroom bay window as well as a huge shower in the en-suite. Our every need was anticipated with complimentary large botles of still and fizzy water very welcome as the weather was warm. Our friends room at the top of the house had spledid views across the city. It is expensive but worth every penny. The breakfast was excellent. Fresh fruit including pineapple strawberries and two types of melon as well as apples kiwi bananas grapes and pears. A good selection of cereals, proper coffee and even espresso. The cooked breakfast had noticably the finest fresh ingredients perfectly cooked with attentive and friendly service and something you dont get in some hotels - . Plenty of hot toast! This is certainly one of the nicest places we have stayed in a great city with plenty to see and do. If you're looking for a special treat in a special city this AA 5* B&B is for you.

Dorian House is a 10 - 15 minute walk from the railway station. Uphill - but it's a gentle slope. A taxi from the station costs £5. I enjoyed the walk to and from the center, with views of rolling green hills and the warm buscuit coloured bath stone buildings. We were on the third floor, up in the roof, with a great view out over the city and the Royal Crescent in the distance - beautiful. The room was small, but had everything we needed - tea making facilities, water, shortbread and a chocolate replenished every morning, bath robes, etc. There is a bar at the hotel, and guests may help themselves to a glass of wine etc. It's all operated on an honesty system. A computer is available in the sitting room for guest use. We were greeted by the owner, who gave us info. about local sights, and restaurants. Service was always attentive, friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was excellent. A choice of three cooked breakfasts - traditional English, vegetarian, or scrambled eggs with smoked salmon - as well as cereal, fruit, juice, croissant, and mini-Danish pastries. A great way to start the day.

My husband and I stayed at Dorian House for a long weekend. The hotel has an informal, warm, homely and very pleasant atmosphere. There is classical or jazz music playing in the background in the communal areas and the furniture and decoration are of good taste. The hotel has a music theme, all rooms are named after musicians or composers. We stayed in Ellington, which was bright and big. The bed was huge and very comofrtable, the furniture beautiful and the linen and sheets of good quality. The bathroom/toilet was of a good size and with new fittings. The breakfast was very good, with a choice of good quality cereal, toast, jams, fruit and cheese and a choice of hearty cooked breakfasts.
The reason that cleanliness and value have been rated 3 stars is because the room had bits that were dusty and the floor had not been cleaned very thoroughly. Also, the radiator in the bathroom did not work and the plumbing in the shower had been done wrong, so I had a bit of a freezing experience at first attempt. We indicated all this to the staff and I am sure it will be taken care of. However, for the charge of the room, everything should always be in top order before guests arrive...
The hotel has free parking and is on a quiet road. It is about 10-15 minutes walk from the centre of Bath and most of the walk is uphill. We walked everywhere. If the visitor is elderly however, it is best that he/she takes the bus up the hill. Many buses serve the area and the bus stop is very close to the hotel.

We were very pleased to get a room at Dorian House as we booked last minute for a mini honeymoon. It just so happens that we weren't spared any luxury for booking late as our room had a four-poster bed and was gorgeous. The one thing we noticed was that Dorian House paid a lot of attention to detail.
The weather during our stay was awful but it was so comforting knowing that after being out in the pouring rain all day that we had a lovely place to go back to. Breakfast was absolutely superb with great quality ingredients and it definitely set us up for the day!
If there was anything that I could be really picky about, it would be the fact that even though we mentioned it was our honeymoon and that we got married only 3 days before, the hotel didn't acknowledge it in anyway. It would have been nice to have had a complimentary drink or even a note in our room to say congratulations. This didn't however reflect on the standards of the hotel at all and if we ever returned to Bath, we wouldn't hesitate to book in at Dorian House again.
