“Very enjoyable”
Reviewed 10 March 2014

I stayed at Brooks guesthouse for few days with a friend. It's perfectly located in Bath, easy to reach from the station, walking distance from the main attraction in town. Despite its location on the main road is very quiet, the lounge is warm and cosy and the bedroom very clean and nicely furnished.
The atmosphere in the house is lovely, staff is very professional, helpful and friendly.
Breakfast is amazing and the breakfast room very pleasant with a simple and tasteful deco, perfect to start your day in the beautiful town of Bath.
I'll definitely recommend it and I will go back there next time I will go to Bath.

All very pleasant and comfortable with quite excellent breakfast. Very welcoming and helpful staff. The handiness for everything in Bath's centre is good and the lounge was very cosy on a wet February arrival!

The b&b has a shabby chic character about it, but very morden bathroom. Yummy hand-made cookies as a complement from the chef. And exceptionally helpful and friendly staff prepared to go an extra mile for the guests. Spacious room, fast WiFi internet, very close to the city centre and easy to find. Thanks.

My partner and I, and our 2 small children (aged 3 and 5) stayed for one night this past weekend and loved this place so much, we have booked another night to return for my birthday (just the adult this time!).

It was a very last minute booking after being unable to stay with friends last minute, and we were pleased to be allocated room 5, a very spacious family room with a huge double bed and 2 singles, with great shower and seperate toilet. The decor is really stylish and individual, but not 'over the top', I loved it. The staff were all lovely and really helpful, especially the reception staff who held on past finishing time to let us in and settle us into the room, this was very much appreciated after a long day!

The beds were very comfortable, and we all slept very well. The breakfast was amazing! Everyone had plenty to eat and it was all great - between us we tried lots from the menu, from the Breakfast Pot, to the French Toast, Full English and the Eggs Benedict, it really was superb.

I'd love to have stayed longer and relaxed a while in the lounge and enjoyed the room more, but it really was a flying visit. I'm looking forward to seeing more of the place when we return in a few months. This place is perfect for couples, but the children were also made to feel very welcome, even though, to me, it does feel more like a 'grown up' hotel... Can't wait to return!

Just had a wonderful weekend stay at Brooks Guest House in Bath. The Guest House is really very welcoming with an honesty bar and a lovely lounge with a open fire where you can just relax and read the newspapers if you wish. The rooms are lovely and clean and the shower superb! Great breakfast with a good choice of food. The only negative is the parking which is a nightmare in Bath! Brooks have around 50 parking permits to allow to to park in the locality (these are chargeable) but we could only get one for two cars so one of us had to park in the Charlotte Street car park which is a nightmare!! Brooks is a lovely guest house and is only a short walk to the wonderful city of Bath, maybe visit by train as cars don't seem to be welcome!!

Room Tip: Room views not great but the rooms themselves are big and well appointed. We had room 15 and our fri...

We had one of the smaller rooms on the top floor which although small was perfectly formed. The bed was comfy and the decor although not to our taste was tidy. Our only complaint and it was only a small complaint was the cheap tea bags on offer in the rooms which rather let the room down and didn't do the rest of the hotel justice.

As for the rest of the hotel the cooked English breakfast kept me going all day and my wife highly recommends the smoked salmon and scrambled egg. The staff, all European which gives Brooks a very sophisticated continental feel, are very helpful. Especially the French receptionist who brought us tea in the lounge and lit the fire for us one day.

All in all a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Room Tip: Rooms on the top floor are a little small.

Great hotel, great location, fantastic breakfasts and excellent service. We'll certainly stay here again when we next come to Bath. Easy walking distance into the centre of Bath for evening meals and shopping. Thoroughly recommended.
