“Nice on the inside”
Reviewed 4 December 2013

From the outside, the hotel looks a little institutional, but inside it's nice. The room was fine, spacious for the three of us, and the bathroom was very nice. We were with a group, and had a nice wine party in the bar and dinner in the restaurant, and for a group meal, it was very good. We didn't find anything to complain about!

Perfectly adequate 3 * type hotel. Rooms OK, bathroom nice, good toiletries and drink selection.
Breakfast & food OK, No parking but can park in multistorey for £15- ok if your there 2+ days but not so good for a 1 nighter. Awful looking building in a city of beautiful buildings but location - 5 mins from Abbey is what sells it. Lovely break because of where we were, rather than where we stayed.

Hotel v clean, staff very friendly and helpful, and the location is fantastic, making all of Bath's attractions very accessible on foot and within easy walking distance of the train station. The room was more than acceptable, although the bed was very creaky and not the most comfortable, and there was a market that set up close by on a Saturday morning that woke us very early, which was not ideal. The only place where free wifi was available was the lobby, with access from the rooms charged, which was disappointing and should have been included in the room price.

Just got back from weekend to celebrate 50th birthday.
Room was good if a little noisy at the front of the hotel.
But things such as feet missing off wc seat which meant the seat rocked and empty sweetener wrappers in the sugar bowl which when reported seemed unimportant to the waitress rile you a bit in a four star hotel.
My wife was surprised at paying so much for parking.
Otherwise a good stay

Room Tip: Rooms at rear overlook River Avon and back of Pulteney Bridge.

The hotel is in a great location, just a short walk to the Roman baths and Themae spa, shops and restaurants. We had both dinner and breakfast included as part of the Spa on the City deal, which is great value getting you spa access, breakfast and an evening dinner included in the rate (was a wed-thurs stay). The restaurant staff were excellent and the view from breakfast room is beautiful, overlooking the river. The breakfast is very good, great selection of hot and cold, always topped up. Apart from a slight problem with the lights in our room, staff were overall helpful and friendly. I would say though, that for a Hilton, the bed could be more comfortable and have slightly more finishing touches to the room, even for standard doubles, I think Premier Inns have the edge here, which I wouldn't expect. But on the whole a good experience.

Just got back from overnight stay here - on the whole I was pleased with my stay except for a couple of things.

1) The beds are really uncomfortable - lumpy mattresses and lumpy pillows - not really good enough Hilton.

2) The exorbitant price for wifi usage. Just a way of making more money - as if the room charges weren't expensive enough. Point blank refused to pay the £14.99 for wifi and used the complimentary wifi in the reception area instead. Come on Hilton - play fair. Wifi is not a luxury anymore - its a necessity - so please provide it FOC.

a decent if expensive hotel, good location within bath for easy walking to the heart of the city, sites and amenities. staff not the friendliest or most efficient at check in. good breakfast buffet, nice dining area and bar. negatives : £14 for 24 hours access to wi fi is just scandalous in this day and age when you pay top dollar for the room. small rooms are just big enough for one night, I was alone, but the beds are small.
the lifts are glacially slow and very frustrating at busy times of the day: breakfast and check out.

I wouldn't stay here again, I'm sure for the same price you would get a more personable level of service, free wi fi and nicer rooms elsewhere in the city, they are playing on the hilton name here.

Room Tip: stay elsewhere
