“what a good stay...”
Reviewed 9 July 2014

We visited Bath and stayed at the Hilton. Firstly, the customer service was really excellent.
There was a slight problem on arrival with the room I had booked. The reception manager heard of this, and came out to sort it out- what good and prompt service!.

We were there for five days. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet, overlooking the river.
Although Wi-Fi is chargeable in the rooms, it is free in the reception area, so no problem here.

The location is excellent, with Bath City in easy walking distance for all the sights and more.

The Hilton Hotel, in my view, is to be recommended.

Room Tip: Room at the back of the hotel at a higher level, which is quiet and you have a nice view of the rive...

My husband and I booked a short break in Bath and chose this hotel because it was the cheapest we could find with a central location. The welcome was lovely and the staff were very helpful. Room was clean and modern and everything worked well. Internet struggled at peak times but was otherwise fine. Restaurant was good although some of the staff weren't quite on the ball. We would consider staying here if we came back.

The Bath Hilton was clean and well presented. Staff were courteous and helpful. The room was clean well laid out with a great view over the Bath rooftops. The only thing that marred an otherwise nice stay was three false fire alarms during the night. The first one being just after 4am.

Thank you for taking the time to post your review. I am glad that you found your room clean, well appointed and with a great view of the city. We apologise for the erroneous fire alarm system fault during the night, your patience and understanding regarding this matter was very much appreciated, thank you. I am truly sorry that this marred the overall enjoyment of what was otherwise a pleasant stay.

The Hilton Bath City had the perfect location as it was close enough to town that you could walk everywhere, there was also a car park which they share with the supermarket so always plenty of room for the car.

While we though the Hilton Bath City was nice it was not 'quite' up to the Hilton standard we have experienced before. One of the lifts was broken down for the whole time we were there and so there was just one lift working for the whole hotel and it took ages to get anywhere as you often couldn't get in if people were going in with suitcases and also had to wait a while for it to arrive. The bar was okay, quite a relaxed feel to it and most people waited here before catching a cab with luggage etc. as it was in the lobby.

Service was fine no major issues but not excellent.

Room was comfy, relatively small but it was clean and we got a nice view of the river in the end. The street view side felt a little unsettling and wasn't nice to look at as it was just creeping in to the rougher part of the town, but no big deal if you are not going to spend any time in there.

Overall, not for us but it wasn't a bad hotel, it could just use a 'facelift'.

Room Tip: Choose a river view, they are better than the town view!

Thank you for your review following your stay with us. We do sincerely apologise for the inconvenience of a lift being out of service at the time of your stay, these works were necessary and essential maintenance work and with such work, there is never an ideal time to carry these out within the hotel. Your patience and understanding regarding this was very much appreciated, thank you. These works are due to be completed by the second week of July and it will improve the time that our guests will need to wait for a lift during peak times.

The hotel was ideally placed for our city visit. The reception staff were extremely helpful and gave us lots of good information for the day we had in Bath. The room was clean and quiet, overlooking the river. We had a great night's sleep followed by an excellent breakfast. The car park is convenient being situated under the hotel and reasonably proced at £15 for 24 hours

Excellent position for all City Centre attractions. Easy walking distance for shopping, Roman Baths and Abbey.
Comfortable enough, but you might prefer to breakfast across the road in the little cafe which is good value.

Room Tip: River facing, but road facing is also quiet at night.

Hilton Bath was a great night stay.. We wanted a place near the Roman Baths at an affordable price. It was also close to pubs. Rooms were clean and breakfast was amazing with lots of selection. Having a car, I parked in the carpark below Hilton and paid 15pounds. Great Stay.
