Just stayed at this hotel. It is situated within walking distance of Jane Austin's centre; Royal Circus and the Great Crescent. The shops are literally around the corner with plenty of little restaurants and place sto eat. Strabuck's is within easy walking distance.
The hotel is beautifully decorated with really comfortable beds. We stayed in a twin room that looked out onto a busy side street. The heating in the room was not working when we arrived and it was a cold day so we reported to a housekeeper at 4pm who could not fix it and said she'd report it to reception. We went out for a snack at around 5.30pm and mentioned to reception that we were having problems with the room heating. We returned at around 7pm to a small portable heater in the room and no heating! The heater smelled strongly of dust so I phoned reception to be told they would come up and sort it out but that I would need to wait for someone to relieve the desk. I was not happy with this and asked that someone come and sort it out as soon as possible - the manager eventually became involved at 7.15 pm and gave us another room on the same floor. He was not particularly apologetic and claimed he had not been told about the problem until now. As I paid £118 for a room only basis I felt the least he could have done was offer a breakfast (which is £19.95 per person by the way)or at least some discount on the room but this was not forthcoming and I did not feel it was good customer service.
We only stayed one night and this spoiled our time to relax and to enjoy what was a lovely hotel.I would recommend it to a friend because of its location and the decor is beautiful shame about the issue of heating which I understand could not be envisaged but I felt could have been dealt with better.
