“Lovely pre-Christmas stay in Bath”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 December 2013

We loved our one night stay here on a very good deal through Accor hotels with breakfast included. We arrived around 12.15 and my husband waitied in the car outside while I went and asked about parking. Belinda came straight out and collectected our luggage and tagged it and pointed us in the direction of the car park which was conveniently just at the back of the hotel. We were greeted so courteously and were made so welcome it was lovely. We completed all the formalities but our room was not ready as it was still early but when we came back at three Belinda broke off from the lady she was dealing with, remembered us and gave us our key. Our luggage was in our room. We were on the top floor and loved the view over the square and the décor of the room. The bathroom was well appointed and the toiletries werevery good. The bed was incredibly comfortable, so much so that we fell asleep initially at 8pm! The pillows and duvet were sumptuous too. Breakfast was a tiny bit chaotic with a well meaning but slightly confused waiter but other staff worked hard to put things right. Belinda remembered us in the morning and was once again charming. A wonderful stay in a beautiful city. highly recommended.

Room Tip: We were on the top floor so no noise from above. We did notice that our room, 317, had a connecting...

Thank you so much for your wonderful and very positive review. It is always a great boost to morale (especially to Belinda who is delighted!). Don’t leave it too long before you come back.

The Francis hotel has undergone a superb renovation in the last few years, and is a lovely, if slightly quirky place. It's location in Queen 's Square is brilliant for the town centre and the great attractions of this fantastic city. It now has the Raymond Blanco patisserie attached which is very good indeed. Car parking is available but limited but this is not an issue as the massive Charlotte St NOV car park is only a short walk away. The only issue we had was with underpinning of the bar and lounge on Saturday resulting in inordinate delays just to get a drink, but putting this to one side, we loved it and wouldn't hesitate to return.

Room Tip: Try to get a room looking out on Queens Square as the rooms to the rear only look out on the car par...

A very comfortable hotel well positioned in the centre of Bath with the benefit of on site parking.
Front desk staff were efficient and friendly and our room was very pleasant.
We did not use the bar or have breakfast. We arrived at 1.15 and were able to get into the car park although spaces were limited. Would definitely return.

Perfect from start to finish. Not one negative thing to say. Home from home, as being a solo female traveler this feels important. Staff went out of their way to make me feel so welcome with nothing too much trouble. My room had the most comfortable bed and pillows I have ever slept in. I couldn't have wanted for more.
The location of the Hotel again perfect overlooking Queen Square. Less than 5 minutes walk to anywhere in Bath.
I can't recommend this Hotel enough. The most perfect Bath experience. I can't thank the staff and management enough.

We arrived and parked outside as unsure of the parking policy. Within 2 minutes Luke was outside taking our bags in and then parking the car for us.

Check in was a breeze and, as the room wasn't ready, our bags and my handbag were securely locked away allowing us to leave to stroll around and shop. On return from shopping all our bags had been safely delivered to our room.

The room was lovely although a little too blue for my taste (ceiling, floor and walls). The picture on the ceiling was a hoot. The bed was the most comfortable that we had slept on in any hotel for a very long time. Coffee maker in the room was a must, shame about only having 3 pods to use tho. A bit sad that we were literally on the top floor and there wasn't much of a view from the window of the square.

Decoration wise the hotel is nice with a respectful nod to the regency roots of the hotel however I think I could have done without the 'funky' faux white and red padded leather in reception. Tres tacky.

The staff were wonderful and seemed to genuinely enjoy being there which is a refreshing change and the hotel is in such a lovely location we will be back again and again and again.

I have been in the hotel & catering trade all of my life. I feel well qualified to give a review based on the fact that high standards are something we provide to all of our guests.

I would firstly like to say thank you to all of the staff at the Francis Hotel who made such an enormous effort to make sure my weekend and proposal went so smoothly.
My communication with the extremely professional, courteous and conciencious concierge and reception team started some weeks in advance of our arriving.
Although I hadn't booked the horse & carriage as a part of my stay they went to great lengths to arrange this for us as a surprise. We came to Bath on the premise of spending the afternoon at the christmas fair but after an early checkin the team helped arrange the horse & carriage (even went to the effort of finding the best priced option!) with champagne and chocolates (hotel chocolat no less). The stunning carriage arrived perfectly on time and took us on our trip around the city. When we returned to the hotel we recevied a warm welcome along with rose petals in the bedroom and further champagne which was beautifully chilled for our return.
All of the staff were extremely polite and friendly making you feel very very welcome. The bedroom was small but the decor was nicely done. The bathroom is worthy of mention, very impressive.
The hotel is beautifully decorated throughout.
The breakfast was very good indeed.
The concierge team of Shaun & Luke we're exceptional, they are a rare find and I hope the company looks after them very well! The reception staff were always smiling and friendly.
I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and we now have a hotel that we will return to time & time again.
She said yes by the way...!

Excellent period property with an interesting history set in the heart of Bath and close to the Pump Rooms. Bedroom was quite spacious and well furnished with a boutique style, service was excellent, very good breakfast offer and all facilities in good general order. A character hotel, well worth a visit.

Room Tip: Some of the other guests mentioned street noise as being a problem- my room faced the rear and it wa...
