Reviewed 30 November 2013

My daughter and I have stayed at this hotel many times for the Bath Christmas market. The staff have always been helpful and friendly but the hotel had got a little tired looking. Now refurbished and with such helpful staff and an excellent breakfast it is a joy to stay in. Especially at this time of year when the entrance is decorated with snow and an apres ski bar outside. A perfect festive break.

Thank you for your recent review, we are delighted that you enjoyed the improvements to the hotel which will continue into 2014. This is the first year we have operated the Apres Ski Bar outside and are pleased to hear that you visited it too, a little bit of festive fun in Bath.
We look forward to welcoming you back next year.

Best wishes

Could not fault this hotel at all. Only issue was noisy crowds shouting outside window at 4am! Not the hotels fault. Great base for exploring Bath so easy from train station. Would definitely stay here again.

My colleague and I were visiting the UK on business and stayed at the Abbey for two nights. After many dismal experiences en route, we were to happy to have hit the bullseye in Bath. As we left, we agreed that this will be our regular base for meetings in the area.

Fantastic hotel, attentive staff, lovely rooms, fantastic food, should really be a 4 star hotel. We were in bath for a wedding, the hotel was so friendly, really helpful staff, next time we come to bath we will definitely be staying here.

Room Tip: A larger room is worth paying for.

My friend and I stayed here last month, and compared to hotels at twice the price in England, this was wonderful. The Rooms were spacious and modern, and the staff was very very helpful. Truly a gem and right in the City of Bath's center. I have stayed in other hotels in Bath, but nothing can beat this one for location, ambiance, cleanliness and comfort. It is truly a Best Western!!

Nice Hotel centrally located to the stores and shops. No parking although parking is available with a short walk to two large car parks, we used the south gate shopping center (cheaper parking) about 10 minuets walk.
The room we had was a compact double, very well presented and clean, it has just about everything you could need bar the kitchen sink, having said that the bathroom is huge, very modern and spotlessly clean just like the rest of the hotel. The slight downside is the price which is high but you do have the location to blame for that.

Myself and 3 girlfriends booked this hotel for a girly spa escape (15th - 17th Nov). Firstly, the package was fantastic value, afternoon champagne tea, dinner, 2 hours in the gorgeous Thermea spa, dinner & breakfast all included in the price.
Secondly, the location of this hotel is brilliant for all of Bath's fantastic shops, restaurants and bars (everything we needed to enjoy our weekend away from the children).
Finally, the quality of the service and the food at this hotel is amazing (I work for a 5 star hotel in Sussex and the service we received was as good as any a guest would receive at the hotel I work in). The dinner in the Allium Brasserie was beautifully flavoured and presented. The staff member who remembered the type of Rum my friend had the night before should be congratulated for attention to detail. And Fish was fantastic (the bar man) he recommended a bar around the corner for us to go to and called ahead to ensure we got in.
The bedrooms and the amenities (REN) we just perfect; beds were so comfortable and the rooms were not too hot.
All in all the perfect weekend. We felt well and truly spoilt by the time we left on Sunday and all said we would definitely return.

Room Tip: Request room at the back, views not as good but less noisy
