Great location for a night in bath. Reasonably priced but what made it extra special was the kindness from a lady on reception called sylvana. It was our first night away since our daughter came along and she went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay and breakfast in bed which was amazing. She was friendly through out our visit and made us feel tgat nothing was too much trouble. More people like you needed. We will be back.

Excellent location. The room was really well presented as were the communal areas. Only thing that slightly let it down was the poor shower pressure. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Secure bag store offered when you have checked out.

Room Tip: We had a cosy double and this was completely adequate.

Excellent location. Welcoming and professional staff. The quality of the food in the restuarant and at breakfast was impressive. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. Tha hotel is being refurbished. However this shouldnt deter anyone from staying as does not detract from the overall positive experience.I would definitely return to this hotel again.

This place is near perfect. The staff was friendly and very helpful. They went above and beyond trying to help me. The room was clean and very peaceful at night. I loved the deep bath and plenty of hot water. The bed was big and very comfortable and the pillows were wonderful. The only issue I had was that the guys painting outside and doing some maintenance were very loud at 7:45 a.m. They were yelling and laughing along with banging doors shut and other noises. If it hadn't been for that, it would have been one of the best hotels in Bath. I never thought I'd need earplugs.

All staff were very friendly, attentive and helpful.
Room large and bed very comfortable. DAB radio and good sized TV. Only downside was bathroom, which was a bit tired.
Communal areas, bar and restaurant very pleasant - contemporary original artwork on display is a nice touch.
Best full English breakfast ever!

We had a lovely comfortable double room on the second floor, with a great view of a busy corner of Bath, the river and even the tower of the Abbey. Bed, bathroom and all other facilities were exactly as one would wish. I have to say that we had got a very favourable deal on the price of the room through an agency - the full price is expensive, as are the bar, breakfast and the wine list, although again the quality is very good : the best scrambled eggs on toast I can remember. As residents we were able to eat from the 3-course set meal in the Allium Restaurant (non-residents are only allowed this option 5.30 - 7.00, which is a bit limiting) and the food was outstanding, and good value (you get all three courses for the cost of a typical main course on the a la carte). All the staff were friendly and helpful; the receptionist seemed quite mortified to discover that her advice about getting to (a) the hotel and (b) the designated parking was out of date (Bath is the most car-hostile city I have come across, and seems to close road and junctions at pretty short notice). I'd certainly go to the hotel again if I can face the prospect of going to Bath again, about which I am not sure.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the front - the views on other sides are not so good.

Where do I start? First impressions were ruined as we had to walk through a cloud of smoke as a man was standing in the doorway smoking. He could just about move out of the way, as he was deep in conversation on his phone, and we were not important. As we walked in we were greeted by smirking giggly front of house staff.
Got to our room, sorry box, after 3 flights of stairs and a maze of corridors, had to dodge the builders and cleaners en route. Our room was clean but the bathroom was very tired, no bin bag in bedroom bin or bathroom. No view just a frosted out window with a peep hole overlooking dismal walls and windows.
Every floor board from the bottom of the bed and in the entire bathroom made a terrible noise. TV was far too complicated when all we wanted was a basic picture.
Bar prices were beyond expensive. We had a "sharing" plate of cheese and crackers which consisted of 5 crackers, thin celery slices, 8 grapes and 3 minute slices of cheese.
Before booking this hotel please check that they don't have " The National Door Slammers Association" staying on your floor. The rooms next to us slammed their doors from 2000-2330. It shock our room.
I do have 3 nice things that make up for all the bad points.
1. The evening reception staff were lovely and so helpful
2. The bar manager was a gentleman
3. The bed was the nicest bed I have ever slept in.
