Such a great stay here - the hotel is 5 mins walk from the train station, and really close to all the main Bath attractions. The room was comfortable and the staff really great. We didn't eat in the hotel as we had booked other options, but from what we saw, the restaurant looked great. Perfect for a romantic weekend away, or a weekend with the girls!

This hotel was VERY CLEAN and had the most comfortable bed we slept in on our 10 nights in the UK. The service was really friendly. They provided free bag storage, which was a huge help while we went on a day long tour of Stonehenge and surrounding areas. The breakfast was very good and made to order. The rooms might be a little small for some, but didn't bother us at all and added to the quaintness of the hotel. Excellent area of the city near the major shopping and attractions and easy walking distance of the train station.

Room Tip: We had a great view of the roof tops out our 3rd floor room. It looked just like a "Mary Poppin...

Over the bank holiday weekend we stayed at The Abbey and received a great services all round. On arrival we was offered a free upgrade to one of the suites, and advised they will push for our room to be cleared before the 3pm check in time. The location of the hotel is faultless and the reception will show you on a map the sights to see. I would highly recommended on having breakfast at The Abbey also as it is to the highest standard.

Stayed at the Abbey Hotel 3rd May 14. What a great hotel. Friendly service, nicely decorated and a great location. Hotel choice was down to recommendation from family mainly down to location and the restaurant. Had a great stay with a big room including a huge bed! Bathroom was a bit dated but was spotlessly clean. Booked a table in the restaurant when we booked the hotel a few weeks before and I think we were lucky get a table. We enjoy dining out and are lucky to have a good selection of top restaurants local to us in Cornwall. We often eat great local restaurants such as Rick Steins, Fifteen and I would say The Abbey Hotel restaurant beet our expectations. After dinner we had drinks in the bar, again the staff in the bar were friendly and we all enjoyed our delicious cocktails.
Breakfast was exceptional!
Would stay here again.

Thank you for your review, so pleased to hear that we were recommended to you, personal recommendations are always the best.

Many thanks for your feedback on Allium, we have a strong local following for Chris Staines food but we do love it when hotel guests dine with us and enjoy the full Abbey, Allium, ArtBar experience.

I note your comments on the bathrooms, they are being refurbished this year along with further redevelopment of the bar and public areas, we still have lots of changes to make and keep moving forward.
Really delighted that you had such and enjoyable stay and I hope we can welcome you back again soon.

Kind Regards

My husband and i stayed here over the bank holiday weekend in room 5. Room was clean well furnished and quiet overlooking the beer garden. Breakfast was plentiful with a good selection of cereals, yogurts etc. freshly prepared breakfast was great and served on piping hot plates. Big than you to the ladies so accomodating and friendly. In fact all the management and staff went out of there way to make this a most enjoyable stay. will certainly be back.

Paid over the odds for a room which transpired to be oppisite two loud and noisey pubs filled with hen and stag parties also loud music and a cold room. The breakfast in bed, although for two people waa inconsistent and with missing items. Decor of the bathroom circa 1980's and shabby. Overall an extremely high price for what I would consider a 3* hotel. I have complained and heard nothing. There are far more nicer and reasonable proced hotels than this in Bath!

Dear AmyW
Many thanks for your review following your recent stay with us, I am so sorry to hear that you were disturbed by external noise. I can only apologise for this, it is from time to time the downside of our extremely central location and whilst we do have measures in place to manager exterior traffic at night it is not always within our control.
With reference to your comments about the room, all bedrooms underwent a soft refurbishment last year, new TV’s DAB radios and fibre optic wifi were introduced. During the winter months we installed a full new boiler and heating system in the hotel which allows us to continue with the next phase of our refurbishment which is the bathrooms and work will commence to upgrade all bathrooms very soon.
We do take all guest complaints very seriously and I am sure that the team were investigating your comments prior to sending a full and informed response.
Once again I am sorry that you felt we let you down on some aspects of your stay, we are always disappointed to read that a guest has left feeling unhappy and prefer to deal with problems when they arise and do our utmost to put things right and ensure a good experience.

Thank you again for your feedback.

Kind Regards

I stayed here over the Easter Bank Holiday for one night. The location couldn't really be better as this hotel is right in the centre beside all the main attractions. The room I had was quite large and had a nice big bed along with some seating. Perfectly adequate for two people. I slept very well and there were no noise issues to disturb me. I didn't have the breakfast or eat in the restaurant. All in a very good place to stay but at a price.
