Best Western Limpley Stoke Hotel
Ranked #24 of 34 Hotels in Bath
Reviewed 25 March 2014

A beautiful location with good parking and easy to get to (you can avoid the horrors of Bath traffic and its odd one-way system). The hotel appears to be popular with wedding parties and that could mean disturbed sleep and difficulties in parking at the weekend.

Room Tip: the second floor is a good choice if there is a function. The best views on the N and E sides.

This traditional old fashioned hotel is a little tired and worn. That said, the location is beautiful and the value is outstanding. If you are looking for a low priced hotel in a high value area then this one could work well for you. Whilst I didn't us the the restaurant, my experience with Best Western is they tend to offer high quality food. Pleasant staff. The journey to the third floor means you take a really odd lift, then follow the warren to the top floor. In summary, well located for rural beauty, old and tired building and pleasant staff.

Feels as if one is going back in time, lovely hamlet, good views and pretty planting around the attractive hotel. Inside there is a cosy bar with doors to a lovely patio which would be lovely in summer weather. Huge reception and dining rooms with high ceilings, in need of some 'comfy' attention and large fires not lit on a cold night so did not stay in to eat. Bed very comfortable, bathroom good and all clean. The hotel felt cold everywhere.

We stayed at the Limpley Stoke Hotel as a base to explore Bath. We booked in advance and managed to get a winter offer which made our stay very affordable and good value. It was very easy to get into and out of Bath from the Hotel so we had plenty of time for sightseeing. The Hotel was set in attractive grounds in a pretty location. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast varied and good quality. The car park was very busy and we struggled to find a place but this was probably because there was a wedding being held at the hotel.
