A large number of family and friends had booked to stay the night of a wedding at a local venue. The stated check in time was 3pm. I asked for a 2.30 check in and was told they would do their best, which to be fair was all one could ask for.
Son of our party had there rooms but a lot of us were told the reception would contact us when they were available. We all had to leave the hotel by 3.30.
At 3.10 a large number of rooms were still not serviced, and tempers were getting hot then a different lady manager came on duty and reiterated that they were still not available.
I suggested to her that they allow us I to the rooms to change and finish the room service when we had gone. This was eventually done, but not for everyone as one of the bride's father's had to change in the corridor.
Throughout this experience the managers hid in the back room of reception and left confrontation to junior managers.
Yes the hotel is shabby the breakfast awfully and not at all fresh looking but something one would see perhaps in a 1960s sea front hotel not what one would expect here.
In conclusion a number of our friends and family are from around Europe and this is not a good example of British hospitality.More
