Lovely looking hotel , once you climb the big hill
Beautifull inside , until you go into the bedroom
Ours was rather small , needed a complete spruce up and a lick of paint
probliy still had some of original features in bedroom from early 18th centry
windows need updating as could hear every single vehicle go by ....through the night !!!!!!
Needs to be closed for a while to bring it up to standard
Restaurant was superb ........food was outstanding

Room Tip: Pre phone or email about location and to and from town Got to be fit to climb that hill

This a Coast and Country Hotel (Sheerings Group), we have used the group before. we went and booked in for a long weekend, so we could see Bath. (site-seeing etc). We had a very good weekend, got a very good room, which was very comfortable. food was very good and varied, including break-fasts. Everything was served very quickly excellent service. staff all very friendly and efficient, a very good example to the group. the Hotel is situated in a great position for seeing all the sites in bath, by a bit of walking if you can do it, or by Bus, or Taxi.
If you want a good deal in Bath try it,we recommend it. Paul and Joan Bennett

Room Tip: Get an Ambassador Room if you can, they are well worth it.!!!

A relaxing break, we drove from Carlisle as Shearing's pick up too early from Carlisle with long waits at their Stretton interchange. Ample parking, warm room, handy for Bath town centre and touring. Stonehenge a must see. Good value. Very friendly efficient staff. Be sure to thank the tall waitress with "spa-see-ba" (Russian for thank-you) to get a reaction!

This lovely hotel in Bath has professional and efficient staff. The variety of international staff make it interesting especially if you engage them. The room we had was in a new section built on in the late 1990s. Unfortunately we only had a view of the back carpark. We did have a problem with the shower/bath taps in the bathroom, but this was quickly fixed by the maintenance people. Lovely public rooms, bar and restaurant. Breakfasts are inclusive and good value. Evening meals vary depending where you select from on the menu. Light meals can be provided in the bar and are good value. We discovered a wonderful hotel, The Hare and Hound, a little further up the hill which has the most incredible view plus friendly staff and great food.

The Lansdown Grove Hotel, Bath. A large four storey Grand house, 15 min from the bustling centre of Bath. The property has many architectural attributes and original features from its long history. The staff are exceptional in their ability to serve the customer to the N'th degree, nothing was too much trouble, almost any request was accommodated.
Rooms are larger than most other hotels, and if you can even upgrade to superior rooms when available.
My only criticism is that the whole interior of the Hotel could do with a makeover, the decoration in some area is starting to look a little tired and worn.
But for a bargain break in a great location - look no further.

Room Tip: Front facing rooms have marvellous views over the city skyline.

We stayed at the Lansdown grove hotel over the weekend. It was part of my boyfriends birthday present, and a surprise trip to Bath. The hotel was lovely, and the room was big and comfortable. It was nice and warm as well, the underfloor heating in our room made a big difference, especially experiencing the surprise snow on Sunday morning. The breakfast was good quality and set us up for the rest of the day.

The only thing I would say is that it may be worthwhile having a bell or something at reception and the bar, as when we came to collect our room key on Saturday evening, there was no one at reception, and it was not obvious where to ask. Also when we went to get a nightcap for the bar, the main bar man was not their, the assistant did try to find him without much success so we had a little wait for drinks, but overall this was not a major issue. We understand staff probably have other responsibilities, but a way of notifying them there is someone waiting would be helpful

Room Tip: The ambassador rooms are really good and spacious - I think these are more modern that the rest of t...

I am really glad you found your stay comfortable with us and I have sorted out the issue with the wait at the bar.

We decided to use Shearings Coach Holidays for the first time... as we both wanted to visit Bath it was ideal..we booked Mon-Fri ..we was picked up by a feeder coach in our home town and other pick up points ...then took us down to warrington to the main Shearings Coach station where after about 1 hour we boared our coach..which was accepatable,We had a nice driver called Neil..who was funny at times...we arrived in Bath we got dropped off while the driver took our luggage up to our rooms..when we got to the hotel ..it was lovely, standing very grand on top of a hill..we were greeted by very friendly receiptionists.. and pointed to our rooms.. we had a great first floor room..food was fair off the set menu..but better on the A la carte menu Restaurant staff very good ..quick and professional..bar man very funny and the french guy so overall staff,,hotel and food ..couldnt fault it.enjoyable stay ,last day was a disaster getting home we were first back into Warrington..3.30 we left at 7 because of accidents on motorway..we got home into Blackpool at 9 the driver didnt know the area and took us down the lights adding another 45 mins..so that has put me off travelling with shearings ..too long waiting ..i felt sorry for the elderly folk ..we were first in and last out.. would use the hotel again but not with Shearings.

Room Tip: Front of Hotel ...first floor
