“Wonderful stay”
Reviewed 12 August 2014

My wife and I and our son and his partner stayed at Tasburgh House for three nights 1st to 4th August. Sue, the owner and her team are absolutely delightful and gave us a genuine warm welcome and mollycoddled us for the rest of our stay. The continental breakfast was excellent as was the individually cooked English breakfast with a special bonus of being able to eat breakfast in the garden on two out of the three days we were there due to the beautiful weather. Sue went out of our way to accommodate us as it was a very busy time and the hotel was almost full. We occupied the Wordsworth and Browning rooms which were both very tastefully furnished and clean. Sue and her staff could not have been nicer and made us all very welcome. I would definitely recommend Tasburgh and will stay there again when we are next in the area,

Stayed 2 nights at the end of July 2014 at Tasburg. We had a lovely time at Tasburg House. The place feels right out of a dated novel. We stayed in a room called Hardy and were greeted by a teddy bear holding open a book by Thomas Hardy. The room was stocked with other Hardy’s books. Both our room and its ensuite washroom have a garden view and overlooks a section of the city of Bath. The room was clean and the facility was well-maintained.

Great location. The building overlooks a section of the city. Susan, the proprietor, suggested that we leave our car and walk to the city centre and take a cab back (cost us GBP7-8). The suggestion was well-placed as the walk along the canal was charming and we exit the canal a Sydney Gardens and cut across the garden to get to the Great Pulteney St.

Delicious breakfast at the patio with a panoramic view of the city and garden. Continental breakfast is included in the room price, additional charge for things off the menu (including a full English breakfast).

I highly recommend Tasburg House to travellers who want to visit Bath.

My daughter and I booked this hotel for one night. It wasn't our first choice because it was on the high end of our price range for a three week stay in England, but it was available and rated highly, and we were booking last minute. We loved Bath, and Tasburgh House made our stay even more special, so- very much inspired by our lovely accommodation we stayed two extra nights.
The staff are gracious, and very knowledgeable about Bath and the surrounding area. Sue herself is a wonderful hostess, will help you out with anything you may need, including booking tours.
Though the rooms are lovely and the beds comfortable, what kept us at Tasburgh house for two extra nights was its peaceful, beautiful location. It was a break from the whirlwind of London, and restored us to carry on with our vacation with new energy. We enjoyed Bath immensely but we were both happy to go "home" to our hotel early in the evening so we could enjoy the gorgeous terraced patios, and read or talk while we watched the light fade over the valley below.

We very much enjoyed our two-night stay at Tasburgh House in August. The staff made us feel extremely welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Our two young children particularly loved staying here as they were given lots of attention by staff at breakfast, and their collection of bedtime toys were arranged very lovingly when our room was tidied and made-up ready for our second night. We all stayed in the Shelley room, a large family room which was extremely comfortable. We were surprised that a cooked breakfast was an additional cost but it was tasty nonetheless.

Stayed with friends for a mid week girlie break. Sue was fantastic emailing us prior to arrival to support us with a last minute date change.
The house is just beautiful and very tastefully decorated and the gardens and view had the wow factor. We sat out in the garden prior to going out in the evening and shared a lovely bottle of wine overlooking the breathtaking views.
Our room was comfortable and clean and had enough space for 3 girls with excessive luggage. We all slept very well.
We walked into Bath along the canal which is a short very pretty walk starting from the back of the house.
We all had the cooked breakfast and it was very well presented and tasted great.
We all have said that we will visit again it was just that good. Thanks Sue !!

We stayed at the Tasburgh on a weekend in June. We had the Hardy room which was lovely, quiet and overlooked the gardens. Sue was very welcoming and helpful. We opted for the continental breakfast having eaten out the night before, which was very nice. I'm sure we'll be back.

We stayed here for two nights last week. Sue and her team are absolutely delightful - it's not often you find a place where you receive such a genuine welcome that lasts during your stay. The continental breakfast was excellent and we didn't need to try the cooked breakfast option but we would have been perfectly happy to pay extra for it. We were able to eat breakfast in the garden on our first morning and that was a treat - the garden is beautiful. Our room was the Oscar Wilde which had french windows leading out onto the side patio. It was quite small but we were told this when phoning to book and it wasn't a problem for the couple of nights we were there. Bathroom was good and everywhere very clean. We would happily return.

Room Tip: The Oscar Wilde room is quite small and does not have one of the huge beds that seem to be everywher...
