Only stayed for one evening, but wish it had been longer. The service was impeccable and the staff very helpful. We ate in the restaurant and the meal was absolutely delicious and the staff knowledgable in both the food being served and the wines available. We also had a treatment in the attached spa which was very relaxing.
The only slight issue was that being above the swimming pool and sauna area, our room did get rather warm, but there were fans provided. In the winter months it would probably be the best room in the hotel!

We stayed here in a two bedroom cottage room with our two children. The accommodations were beautiful and elegantly appointed. There was a mini kitchen with fridge, microwave, tea/coffee and a washing machine. We washed a load of clothes and the hotel dried folded them for us. We had a spacious living room and two bedrooms, one king and one with two twins over looking the gorgeous grounds. The spa was lovely. The restaurant was amazing..the kind of meal and service you remember forever. The kids loved the heated outdoor pool and I can't remember ever enjoying cocktails so much as we did in the beautiful gardens. The service was impeccable and friendly. I'd give it 6 stars if I could!

I have been to the priory quite a few times & it has NEVER disappointed. the setting, ambience, attention to detail, service & above all, the quality of food is second to none-
Today we had melon soup, smoked salmon pate, mackerel & plaice followed by white chocolate ie cream & all superb. Well-balanced flavours, an unhurried approach & great service- it makes you decide never to eat anywhere else for fear of certain disappointment! Congratulations all round- as a local I'll be back & back & back for those special tteats! best of all the mulberry tree was ripe- sad to see those lovely mulberries dropping to the ground unused- Why not use them in a dish?

We stayed for the weekend with our two youngest children. The room was in the adjoining wing and apart from the lack of a bath on our room, lovely. The hotel staff did try to accommodate us but we decided to remain in the suite. The way the staff dealt with our disappointment at the lack of a bath however was exemplary.

The new pool and spa were lovely and all the public rooms very tastefully decorated and furnished

We ate in the restaurant both nights and the food was b
Very good, not quite as good as our last visit but almost. There did seem some problem with the restaurant staff and the kitchen I'm that there were some long delays between ordering and the food arriving especially at breakfast but overall a very relaxing pleasant hotel. The staff are a credit to the owners.

We have stayed at the hotel on a number of occasions, we actually got married at the hotel in September 2008, and have been lucky enough to return at least once a year! The hotel is beautiful, the gardens are amazing and the staff are all fab, friendly, and nothing is too much trouble. On one of our stays they had arranged for a personalised present for our son, on another they were completely understanding when I was taken ill whilst pregnant, and on our wedding day it couldn't have been more relaxed and friendly, it was perfect. We have also enjoyed an evening event, which was brilliant, and very very reasonable cost wise when you consider what you are getting. The food will take your breathe away, the beds will make you feel cosy and the staff will make your stay simple, it is without doubt my favourite hotel to stay at, it isn't cheap but it is well worth the money!

Gorgeous hotel in a lovely old house, with lots of character. Our room was immaculate and extremely comfortable and our bathroom was spotless. The grounds to the hotel were stunning with beautiful flowery borders, would love to see the house in May when the wisteria is out. Could have stayed longer than two nights, it was lovely, would definitely go back and stay here again.

A very significant wedding anniversry was the occasion and I'm pleased to report that making this booking went down very well with my othr half. This really is place to enjpy that special weekend, having spent honeymoon in Bath in a much less splendid hotel (although that probably cost me a greater proportion of my income at the time). I hesitated lest it was OTT and fussy, but not so. The garden, public rooms, spa were spendid and a delight. The breakfasts were excellent. The dinner was good although that could be regarded as overly complex.

Oddly we did not find - and missed - the tea making facllities. I suppose I should have asked.
