Went for an "unwind" break to capitalise on an opportunity in our joint schedules and a surfeit of unused annual leave days.; We went midweek, and the hotel is perfect. Walking distance to Bath, food excellent, rooms luxurious, staff polite, attentive and unobtrusive, spa running perfectly well out of its temporary home and the grounds beautiful. A couple of other functions went on completely unobtrusively in the back ground, the only evidence being a full car park. If you earn your money in € its great value; if you earn your money in £ or $, it's expensive

I would reccomend this hotel to anyone who wants relaxation and a 'home from home' sort of stay! We are busy london people who never get the chance to spend quality time with eachother, so this was perfect opportunity!
We arrived in the hotel at midday and were shown straight to our room, which was beautiful and overlooked the lovely gardens.
We had lunch on the terrace and explored the gardens! We loved the little herb and veg patch at the very end of the garden!
The priory is a great size hotel, almost feels like a large country house (one i would like to live in!) The drawing room is very beautiful with many different paintings and antique furnishings. There are building works taking place at the far end of the hotel where i am told a new spa is being built. There was no noise at all so it didnt bother us in the slightest. Although there is no spa at present, massage and beauty treatments are still available. I reccomend the decleor facial, it was the best facial i have ever had and my skin felt like velvet afterwards. My beautician, Kayleigh, was so helpful in explaining how to use the products that i treated myself to some of the range!now my husband keeps using it..

That evening we dressed up and dined in the restaurant. We have dined in many top places before including Le Manoir, but this has to be the best! We loved the food, the service and that special atmosphere that we have never experienced elsewhere. A very unpretentious and relaxed environment. Our waitress, Sarah was so friendly and efficent.

In the gorgeous city of Bath, The Jane Austen centre is a must see and the Roman Baths! and for an indulgent afternoon tea- the pump rooms is a must .

We really did not want to leave the Bath Priory. We are going to be returning in sept/ oct when building work is over and the new spa has been finished! We can't wait !

Enjoyed a fantastic weekend at this hotel. We ate in the Michelin starred restaurant on both evenings and the food was delicious. The breakfasts were also very good with good choice of food from the buffet as well as cooked meals available to order.
The room was lovely, the one downside to ours, which was a premier room and one of the more expensive, was the fact that a footpath ran just outside the window and it was at ground level. Also, the view was not good, being at ground level, compared with the other rooms which seemed to have views of the beautiful gardens.
The service from all staff was first class and we hope to return one day.

The Bath Priory is a great English hotel - we were upgraded to a beautiful room overlooking the garden - full of English flowers, butterflies, croquet on the lawn and a small heated pool. We stayed during the week and noticed the clientele were mainly of pensionable age which led to a rather quiet and refined air! The spa is currently being refurbished which meant the treatment room for my massage was small and very bright - probably not worth a visit until finished.
Dinner was fantastic - Michael Caines is working his magic - the cheeseboard is a must do!
That said we will certainly return - this is an oasis of five star quality next to a wonderful city, just under two hours from London - Perfect!

This was our second stay at this hotel and it did not disappoint. Unfortunately the indoor pool was not available this time due to renovation but that was a minor issue that did not detract from our visit. Just about every aspect of the hotel is excellent from the staff that greet you an arrival, the general atmosphere, the delightful and comfortable rooms, beautiful gardens and the superb food. You are made to feel very special by everyone connected with the hotel. ating in the restaurant is more than simply eating the good food, the effort that goes into presentation makes it a real event. I would recommedn having at least one dinner there during a stay. Breakfasts are freshly cooked and delicious with an excellent chioce available. This hotel is at the top of our list of 'special places' that we will go to for an indulgent short break. Not cheap but still very good value for a special treat.

My husband and I first went to the Bath Priory for our honeymoon in March 2006. We loved it. The food, location of the hotel, service by the staff and the gardens at the hotel provide a wonderful respite from the normal stresses of 21st century life. We have gone back several times since because we are treated like house guests who arrive to stay with much loved firiends.
Our last stay was in March 2009 - and we are going back in May 2009, to recharge our batteries and enjoy the pampering. The staff are wonderful and do everything they can to make our stay memorable.
