We arrived at the Bath Priory to a warm smile and greeting. We were shown around the hotel and finally to our room which was beautiful. As it was our first anniversary we had the romance package and the bed and bathroom was tastefully covered in roses and the biggest bouquet of beautiful lillies, champagne on ice and a card from the hotel wishing us a happy anniversary.
We ate in the restaurant and the food was amazing as was the service. When we took coffee in the lounge it was brought through with pettit fours with happy anniversary iced in the slate. The whole hotel made us feel very special and it was heartfelt, not just going through the motions.
We had alovely day in Bath doing the tourist trail and hitting a few shops. When we returned we had a bottle of wine on terrace watching the sun go down in the lovely gardens.
Breakfast was the best we have ever eaten, the first morning we ate in our room and the second we ate in the restaurant. There was no difference in quality or quantiy and it was still hot when it arrived in our room.
When we received our bill the nicest surprise was there was no service charge for turn down or bringing breakfast or the hospitality tray which was a refreshing change as some hotels really abuse the 'service charge'
All in all we were sad to leave but will definatly be returning

Arrived after checking out of the awful Woolley Grange - what a difference, were greeted by helpful receptionist and shown to our luxurious spotless room which overlooked the grounds (you could never tire of looking at them). The stay was luxury from start to finish. The food was wonderful and the staff could not do enough to meet our needs. Our eleven month old was looked after perfectly and I would totally recommend this break for a family. The beds were hard to get out of as they were so comfortable and if the weather had been bad we would have been totally happy to hang out in our room or around the hotel. The bathrooms were huge and the complimentary toiletries were all molton brown. Each day our room was cleaned and upon entering after our long days out the room like it had upon our first arrival. The spa has just been recently refurbished and is very beautiful. On the whole we didn't want to leave. If you ever get a chance stay at this hotel for a truly relaxing, luxury break.

The prfessionalism of the staff is the best I have ever seen with the possible exception of the Ritz in Madrid. We chose Heather and I strongly urge you to get a garden view--it's glorious. Heather has a small balcony that is extra pleasant. Comfortable, clean, wonderful bed, linens and bath and amenities. We treated ourselves to an a la carte dinner in the restaurant and it was extraordinary. When I could eat no more and pushed aside my plate, within one minute two staff members asked if everything was satisfactory . They accommodated food preferences without a blink, modifying the accompaniments to the meal.
The public rooms are spectacular, the gardens well worth a stroll, the breakfasts would satisfy anyone. It's a good walk down to the center of town, and we elected to take a 5 pound car ride back up, which was wise for us.

Everything about this hotel is perfect. The staff, who balance perfectly unobtrusiveness with friendliness. The food, both at the restaurant and the breakfasts. The gardens are like something out of a movie and the rooms, all different in their own way, are fantastic. I have stayed in a lot of excellent hotels around the world and this is one of the best.

My partner took me here for my birthday, all i can say was that it was perfect. from the moment we arrived to the moment we departed the staff were courteous and un-obtrusive. The restaurant was first class, the breakfasts catered for all.

We were in a room overlooking the gardens and it was quiet and extremely comfortable.

I will definately return!

We had a wonderful overnight stay here - although the spa wasn't ready as anticipated, we did get a much appreciated call in advance to let us know and the welcome offer of an upgrade. We therefore stayed in Honeysuckle which was a spacious, comfortable room (except the bed - my husband had an unsettled night on a mattress which was similar to a memory form style but made up of interlocking plastic sections). The room was immaculate in terms of decor and cleanliness. Lovely products, Frette sheets and soft towels. We were at the end of the hotel near to a children's nursery so that could have been a downer if you planned on quiet time in your room during the day. We however went sightseeing in Bath and enjoyed afternoon tea in the Pump room.

The food was our main driver for booking this hotel and lived up to it's reputation. We opted for the tasting menu and enjoyed every morsel. Staff were knowledgeable, not intrusive and we were given excellent advice re the wine. Breakfast the next day was equally good and again, the staff were excellent.

Location is the main issue with the hotel - it is not in the centre of town but it is only a pleasant 25 minute walk away. We took a taxi one way and walked the other - this avoided the location feeling a problem. We rather liked being 'tucked away' but then have visited Bath on previous occasions so weren't set on being in the centre.

This hotel is ideal for a special treat and particularly if you are adventurous enough to try some of the more unusual menu items on offer.

My boyfriend surprised me with a night's stay at this hotel for my birthday so this was always going to be positive review. Having said that this hotel is beautiful - it's got everything you want from a luxury hotel. He arranged to have a bottle of champagne and a bunch of flowers in the room on arrival which he says was easily arranged for a reasonable price. I was lucky enough to be able to arrange a back massage when we arrived and it was by far one of the best I've had in a while. Had a quick dip in their outdoor pool before tucking in to some scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam. It was a nice sunny day so we were able to enjoy their gorgeous outside area for a few hours before heading out for dinner. Unfortunately their restaurant was fully booked that night but once again the boy did his homework and had booked a table at the lovely Moon & Sixpence. The perfect end to our road trip around South West England.
