I booked this hotel via an offer with Wowcher. 2 nights for 2 people, dinner, bed and breakfast with a glass of champagne on both nights and a cream tea on arrival for £249 - bargain! Whilst the hotel is not decorated in a modern way, it's designer Isambard Brunel created this building very tasteful and spacious. We arrived on the Friday and had already been told we would not be able to access our parking space till 1pm so we used the pay and display car park nearby. We had our cream tea which was lovely and made our way into town. We sat down for our evening meal later on and were surprised at how much choice we had. Whilst the portion sizes were enough, the food quality is not amazing but better than your usual pub standard food. The staff waiting on could not have been more friendly and were very welcoming. Breakfast the following morning was also really nice with a choice of your usual continental items and a variety of hot items, full english, salmon, Eggs Benedict etc etc (menu attached). We were in a room that was on the side of the hotel which meant it was noisy at night with groups singing and arguing etc and as the hotel is on the corner by traffic lights, buses pulling up on red and having their engines running did tend to disturb me some but...I booked this hotel via an offer with Wowcher. 2 nights for 2 people, dinner, bed and breakfast with a glass of champagne on both nights and a cream tea on arrival for £249 - bargain! The bedrooms were nice and spacious and very warm (had to turn the heating off in the end as it was too hot). Overall we had a lovely weekend in a beautiful. Would we stay here again, on the offer, yes definitely.More
