Beautiful, spacious, friendly..absolutely fabulous! The owners are wonderful & the breakfast is delightful in the lovely conservatory.Loved the clawfoot bath. Four of us [incl two teenagers] had the most wonderful stay...do not be put off because it is a small drive into the town centre.
After driving from London we were greeted with some much welcome afternoon tea & a lovely chat.

What can I say that hasn't already been said? My girlfriend and I loved our stay at Hawkins of Bath, the weekend of 4th July 2014, and I can't think of one bad thing to say about it.

We stayed in the Bathwick room which is on the ground level. The bedroom was well decorated and furnished, and the bed was easily one of the best I've ever slept in. The bathroom was huge, the shower hot and powerful. And everywhere was so clean.

The breakfasts were lovely, we both had a full English on the 2 days we stayed - two sausages, egg, beans, bacon, mushrooms, tomato and toast, but lots of other things were on the menu like salmon or scrambled eggs.

The owners, Glyn and Dianne were great, so friendly and helpful, with lots of advice on what to see in the area, how to get there etc. etc.

It's about 1.5 miles away from the centre of Bath, and taxis cost around £6 - £7 each way, if you don't fancy the 30 mins or so walk.

If you're wondering whether to book this place or somewhere else - don't - Hawkins of Bath will win hands down. If there is a better B&B anywhere in England I hope I have the pleasure of staying in it. When we hopefully return to Bath I won't even think of anywhere else to stay.

We were amazed at how Glen and Diane have managed to combine total professionalism with the warmth and friendliness of a family home. They have obviously worked very hard to renovate this old house themselves and decorated it with a great deal of taste and charm. The crystal chandelier in our bedroom was a lovely touch. We were welcomed on arrival with a cup of tea and freshly made cake which was served in the very comforable guest lounge, and Glen gave us a map of Bath with suggestions of places to eat and attractions to visit. Our room (Lansdown) was large, plenty of room for our large suitcases, with an extremely comfortable king size bed. The bathroom was also spacious and everything was sparklingly clean. We were initially concerned about the window looking out onto the road but there was no traffic noise during the night.

Breakfast is served in the stunning sunroom. There was a good selection of cereals, yoghurt, a marvellous bowl of fresh fruit, and beaufifully cooked how breakfast. When it came time to leave Glyn suggested a more scenic route to our next destination that the one our GPS had chosen and we were very glad that we took his advice. We would be very happy to stay here again.

My wife and I decided to have a weekend away from a hectic working week in London. From the moment we checked in at the guest house to the moment we left, Di and Glyn were warm, welcoming and unbelievably attentive! They couldn't do enough for us and were so well informed about the local area.

The room was spic and span - tastefully decorated with beautifully starched sheets. In fact, along with Glyn's superb full English breakfast, the bed was the other major highlight for me. I don't think I've slept in a bed as comfortable as that - ever!

If only all guest houses were up to this standard! Di and Glyn have really raised the bar! We wouldn't consider staying anywhere else in Bath.

We we're lucky enough to choose this wonderful B&B for our two night stay in May. Stayed in the Bathwick room which was lovely with a huge spotlessly clean bathroom. Enjoyed spending time in the lounge room in the evening to relax and read and felt more than comfortable to do so. Location is great.....an easy walk into the centre of Bath or take a bus or cab if you don't feel like the walk. Now what can say about our wonderful hosts Diane and Glyn who are just the loveliest people. The work they have put in to transform their home into such a lovely welcoming place for travellers is just amazing. Nothing was too much trouble with breakfast of your choice each morning, recommendations for restaurants and Glyn with map in hand to set you off on your travels. Thank you for making our stay in Bath such a great one!

My friend and I stayed at Hawkins of Bath the first two nights of our recent 2 week trip to England, Wales, and Scotland at the end of May. Diane welcomed us at the front door and showed us to our very lovely room...the Widcombe Kingsize en-suite. The room was spotless and plenty spacious for us to unpack and spread out. All the right touches were there, from the instant tea and hot chocolate to the bathing amenities.

Our first afternoon was spent getting acquainted with the town, and after serving us a pot of tea, Diane kindly went over lots of Bath information to help us on our way. She suggested a favorite steakhouse called Hudson's Steak House, and it was one of the top 3 places we ate in Great Britain during our two weeks...totally delicious food in an intimate atmosphere. Thanks for that great tip, Diane!

Our first breakfast there...overlooking Diane and Glyn's "Hobbit hole" in their backyard which was so cute!...was also one of the best we had on our trip. The eggs were perfectly made and shaped, the dining area so warm and inviting, and everything just top notch. It was also really nice to chat with Diane and Glyn a bit during this time, even though they were busy tending to their guests' needs. They are both so friendly and nice!

We fell in love with the city of Bath...so much fascinating history and fun shopping, plus an easy drive for us to Stonehenge. We could have easily added a day or two in Bath, but had to head up to Chipping Campden next. Glyn was so helpful to guide us there...he made some maps for us and went over a couple potential routes.

As has been said in other reviews, the house Diane and Glyn have worked so hard on and put so much of their hearts into, is so thoughtfully done and such a wonderful place to stay. Yes, it is a walk into the downtown area, but we also appreciated being in a quiet neighborhood, away from all the city noise and hustle/bustle. We would stay here again in a minute, thanks to Diane and Glyn!

You certainly will not be disappointed if you are fortunate enough to get a room here!
Thanks so much to Diane and Glyn!

Room Tip: Loved the Widcombe Suite, even though just 2 of us. We put our luggage in the extra room, which gave...

Went here for the weekend to both celebrate my mother in laws 80th birthday and to see our daughter who is at Uni in Bath. I have to say I have never stayed anywhere so clean and well presented - including 5 star hotels. Glyn and Diane have clearly put their heart and soul into the place and their high standards shine through. They are eminently welcoming on arrival and nothing is too much trouble. The place is an oasis of calm away from a busy City and just close enough to be out of the bustle, yet close to the hub of the action.
Glyn wouldn't even take a tip on check out, saying the price is the price.
Truly superb - will definitely be back.
Thank you
