I've been reading reviews on Trip Advisor and realised I'd never written one myself. This hotel deserves a great review and thought it only fair I give it one. Firstly, the staff were so accomodating; we got stuck in traffic and didn't arrive until 11 but the receptionist was completely fine about it. The room was superbly clean (not decorated to my taste but nice all the same), had everything you'd need. Breakfast was delicious. The only difficulty was it's distance from the town centre, which I don't believe was walkable but a very short trip in the car. Overall it was simply lovely and the staff so friendly. Enjoy!

We booked very last minute but this was still great value.
Georgous Victorian panelling in reception and halls makes an impressive first impression. The room was clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was lovely and served in a light and elegant breakfast room, and the staff were all friendly. We booked use of the hot tub for the first night we were there, and enjoyed a wonderful soak down the end of the garden.
Rather than attempt to have a minibar in each room, each floor has a concealed fridge in the hall, from which guests can help themselves.
The only downside was trying to find parking. The first night we lucked out and there was a space at the end of the drive, but there are only three of these, and the scaffolding currently in place for work on the building makes reversing up the steep drive a tricky prospect. The second night we had to circle a bit on return from sightseeing till a park opened up - but then it was right in front of the hotel. Others I suspect might not be so lucky.
Cranleigh is near town, although those with mobility problems might struggle as it is an able-bodied 20 minute walk. Taking a car to the centre of Bath is a whole different problem though, as there is very little parking anywhere in town.
Staff were able to recommend several restaurants around town, and we tried two, both of which were great.
I would be very likely to stay here again when I return to Bath.

Very nice B&B with great owners. Bath accommodation is expensive and this is true here but it is reasoable for the area. Breakfast was great. We stayed on the top floor which is fine for fit people but a climb for older folk. Room was delightful, really comfortable beds and very nice bathroom. Plenty of fresh tea and coffee and even fresh milk in a fridge just outside the room. Parking very tight - would advise parking on the road.

Lovely room. Quiet location and only a short taxi ride to the center of Bath. Owners were very accommodating when we arrived before check-in time. Great choice of breakfasts. I would stay here again.

My boyfriend brought me here for my birthday present at the end of January. Our room was stunning (room 6, superior double) with great views, and sublime period decor. It had a huge flat screen tv and plush furnishings which we thoroughly enjoyed. The owners were really friendly and the breakfasts were fantastic! One of the highlights was using the hot tub at the bottom of the garden! The hot tub is secluded in its own purpose-built decked area which includes a heated summer house for changing and drying off which was much-needed in freezing January! There is free parking on the road. It is a fair way out of Bath centre but is walkable if you are energetic. There is also a park and ride and bus stops near-by. It is fairly expensive but for a special occasion it is well worth it as you will feel like a millionnaire!

Seriously,if your looking for the perfect quest house you've just stumbled apon it.
Nothing to dislike about the whole place.
We stayed for 2 nights as a 25th wedding treat.
We stayed in room 5 which is very large and has 2 double beds an a massive bath room with separate bath and shower.
You get everything in the room you would ever need (tea/coffee/bickies/hairdryer in a lovely little velvet bag/emergency kit in the bath room for anything you may have forgotten).
It takes about 5 mins to get to the center of bath by taxi an costs £7.
The taxi co the hotel gives you the number for, is brilliant, you just call them from town, tell them what shop or restuarant your outside an they arrive within 2mins everytime.(the no is 444444).
They seem to use alot of women drivers,we even had women pick us up at night so if your a lady on her own or a group of girls just ask for a women driver if you feel safer.
When we stayed the owners were away but the girls who looked after us treated it as if it was there own business, nothing to much trouble.
If you have,nt been to bath before you must visit the baths and abbey, also you must do afternoon tea in the roman baths pump room resturant.(all very posh!).
The cooked breakfast was perfect, but i do think the time should be upto 9.30(not 8 till 9)im on me hols.
The cranliegh has about 4 parking spaces but you can park outside in the road with no problem.
A couple of reveiws on here have pointed out about there being lots of staires but if your going to spend all day walking around bath i really dont see the problem with 2 flights of stairs.
Theres nothing to be worried about at the cranliegh so just book up now and have a great break.
