“A wonderful and stylish place to stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 December 2010

Beautiful room, great breakfast and friendly service. Shame we only could stay one night. A little to far from the city centre to walk.

We stayed for two nights, the rooms were clean and thoughtfully presented. The breakfast was plentiful with lots of options and well cooked. We would book again here with out a moments hesitation.

The hotel was spotlessly clean and all our needs were catered for. The owners were helpful but unobtrusive and there was alot of attention to detail. Maps and information about the surrounding area and restaurants were given to us on arrival and printed directions were available. Nothing seemed too much trouble. Thankyou for a very pleasant stay.

After finding it extremely difficult to secure any accommodation in Bath for the weekend, we truly struck gold with Cranleigh...

The staff and owners were very helpful and welcoming and always had a smile on their faces. It was a great fairly central location being only a short pleasant 20-30 minute walk from the city centre. We had a car but it was not really needed as everything is fairly central in the city and traffic can get a bit chaotic in busy periods.

The room itself was lovely with a romantic setting and exactly what I was looking for... Cant go past a big four poster to make a good impression.

We booked a standard room but on arrival discovered that we had been upgraded to a four-poster room at no extra cost as it was a quiet period. Room was spacious and beautiful with lovely views of hills and valleys, Bed was large and comfortable. Owners were very friendly and helpful and tried to do everything possible to make our stay enjoyable. My only small complaint would be that the bathroom was very small and the shower stall so tiny that I couldn't wash myself without bumping the sides.
In the morning we asked if we could book a second night. Our room was booked but they moved us into an even better room (with larger bathroom, larger TV, and King-size four-poster bed) at no extra cost.
'Free wi-fi throughout was a bonus. No smoking is allowed anywhere in the building but there is a bench near the front gate provided for smokers, However the provision of an ashtray or bucket or other receptacle for cigarette butts would have been helpful.
We walked down to a pub for dinner, which was about a 10 minute walk. During the day we walked into the town centre which takes about 40 minutes and is downhill all the way so not too strenuous. We took a cab to get back and this cost 8 pounds, not the 5 pounds mentioned in the hotel's literature, but to be fair, there was peak hour traffic at the time.
I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

This is a lovely B & B, a cut above what is normally expected. There are lots of thoughtful touches, from the cookies in the room, the toiletries in the bathroom and the honesty bar.

The room itself was well furnished, in keeping with the age of the house. It was very comfortable.

The hosts are very welcoming and can provide losts of helpful local knowledge.

The breakfasts were very tasty too.

Thank you!
