This hotel was the highlight or our trip. We stayed in the two double rooms in the top/attic floor. The rooms were plenty big, immaculately clean and very comfortable. In the parlor there was plenty of room to enjoy tea with your party (we were a group of four). It was a very relaxing facility. The breakfast was amazing. My personal favorite was the smoked samon with scrambles eggs. The staff was very friendly and informative. They even helped park our car for us (the onsite spots are very small- unless you have practice parking in them). The staff would join you in the parlor area and make converation furthering how at home this place made you feel. It is little bit of a walk into town but not more than the 10 minutes others have mentioned. They have a computer set up in the parlor with internet access and board games to play as well.

Lovely building, ideally located. The rooms are beautiful - lovely high ceilings, flat screen tv, molton brown toiletries. Beautiful breakfast room with a lovely selection of fresh tasty food. Great attention to detail.

The staff are very friendly and were delighted to give advise and information on the local area. We look forward to returning.

excellent place very friendly greeted with a tray of tea and biscuits. Beautifully furnished. Champagne breakfast if desired. Could not fault. 10 mins from centre could be walked but up hill on way back. less than £5 taxi fare so no problem.

We spent a lovely two nights at this first class B & B in Bath.

Our room was spacious and beautifully appointed with a lovely view of a small garden. (We were downstairs and so our view was only of the garden - very peaceful and quiet - We suspect that rooms on the upper floors have views out over the city.) We chose the upgraded four-poster room with the jaccuzi tub (which we used and enjoyed greatly). The bathroom here was almost as large as the ROOM we ended up with at our next stop in Cambridge (see our review of the Lensfield Hotel).

Breakfast was the best we had on our travels in England which included 3 B and B's and one London Hotel. Cooked to order, lots of choices and all ingrediants high quality.

Oldfields is about a 1 - 2 km walk up a hill from the city center. It is not a bad walk and worth the quiet of being out of the city center. Our only quibble with the hotel staff (which was top notch in ALL other regards) has to do with their estimates of time to walk from the Hotel to various places in the city. I think that being much younger than us, they likely walk at a faster pace. It took us about 35 minutes to get to a restaurant on the far side of the city center and about 15 to get to the closest boundries of the city center (ask the staff about the shortcut down the stairs which we had to discover on our own.)

Overall I would rate this property a 4.8 for what it is on a scale of 5.0 but since there are no fractional choices we'll give it a five.

As an aside - we had an absolutely lovely dinner at Onefishtwofish, one of the restaurants on the hotel's recommended list. A little pricy but we felt it was worth it.

Stayed here the weekend of the 9th of June.
The location is great, just a 10min walk down the hill and your in the center. The room we had (no 17) was great, a nice four poster bed and the ensuite was large and clean. The only slight downside is that it is below the breakfast room so from 8am on you get woken by the creaking floor.
The staff is very helpfull & friendly and when you've booked they give you restaurant recommendations which is quite handy.
Breakfast is great, either vegetarian, full english or smoked salmon & eggs and also a good selection of cornflakes, fruits and juices & champagne.
We walked a couple of times but also took a taxi in the evening which is around £4,50 one way.
We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this hotel to our friends & family.
