“Excellent hotel in good location”
Reviewed 4 November 2007

Stayed here as part of a family reunion and found the hotel to be excellent. All the rooms were nicely decorated, the ambience was relaxing and the location was ideal - only a ten minute walk into the centre of Bath. The hotel does not do evening meals - it just has a breakfast room, but the breakfasts were very good. The only minor irritation was that breakfast finished by about 9.15am - it would have been good to extend to 10am at weekends if not all week.

We have just returned from a 3 night break at The Ayrlington. Everything at the hotel exceeded our expectations. It lived up to every one of it's 5 stars. The rooms are beautiful, the staff are friendly and the breakfast excellent. We would highly recommend it.

The level of comfort at this Bath hotel is topnotch. We stayed in the
Bamboo, which is a Standard bedroom, but it was quite spacious and has a beautiful view of the Abbey. The included full English breakfast was delightful and delicious and the service could not have been better.

The hotel's garden is stunning. I must come back in the spring, for sure. The owner's have a keen eye for design and it shows.

The hotel is located just a short walk from town center, so it's very
convenient.

Please ask Audrey for places to eat in town, we tried some of her recommendations and they were perfect!

We stayed at this hotel Sept. 5-7. The hotel was clean, beautiful and well kept. Our room was larger than we expected and we were pleasantly surprised. We enjoyed the breakfast, the yard and the sitting area on the ground floor. It is about a quick 5-10 minute walk into the main part of town. Some of the past reviewers said the hotel was on a busy street, which did not seem to be too busy. Lovely stay. Hotel highly recommended.

We were looking for a quiet place to stay away from the street noise of the city center and this fit the bill. We arrived at noon and they let us check in early, which was great. Our room was clean enough, but they missed a few details. I think this is because we were early and the person in charge didn't get a chance to look things over; the rest of the hotel seemed very clean. Our standard room had a lovely view of the walled garden and Bath Abbey across the river. Breakfast was great; lots of items on the menu. All of the staff were friendly and professional. Bath is an expensive city to enjoy and this was an overall good value for the money.

The rooms were very nice and clean, staff pleasant and helpful, and breakfast very good.

It's in a good location within walking distance of the town center and many fine restaurants.

We also liked the quaint sitting room for after hours drinks.

We would stay here again.

Perfect location (and free on-site parking, a rarity in Bath!), 10 min or so walking to the city center. Nice garden. We had a small but comfy room, "Poppy", which though small was fine. Quiet, though it is on a rather large avenue.
Nothing to complain about, just that...is is worth £125 (cheapest room of the hotel, in fact)? This is (for the continentals) about 185 euros. For a place that is definitely nice and comfy, but not really luxury. Apparently, for over-rated wonderful Bath, this is the range...on most cities on the continent you would not even pay £100 for a similar thing...
