Excellent hotel. The room we stayed in is spacious, beautifully furnished, clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were outstanding, many very nice choices to select from. Location couldn't be better, in the heart of Bath, but quiet. Staff is helpful and friendly. Our only concern was that the bed was quite firm, not very comfortable.

Currently and forever in my top ten hotels anywhere ever, actually scratch that, top five.... the bed we had was like sleeping on a cloud of amazingness and, well, have you even had the breakfast there? well I have and the one time I stayed there and had to miss out on the magnificent beakfast made me feel sad inside for a long time.
Did I mention the staff are so nice and the breakfast is actually the best you will get in town? No..? Sorry, should have said.
Thankyou Haringtons, you are really great.

This hotel is a nice hotel, but no better than any other hotel I have stayed in of a similar class. It is rated by the AA as a 3 star, but I would say it is more a 4 star. We stayed for 2 nights in a standard double, I would have upgraded had they had vacant rooms. The room and hotel are as described and a perfect base to explore Bath from.

Pros
Location is fantastic
Staff very helpful
Local restaurant guide, which is useful
General decor of hotel and room/bathroom
Wi-Fi available
Tasty breakfast, cooked to order
Honesty of hotel about size of beds, stairs etc
Digital TV
Extractor fan in bathroom, which means no steam despite small room
Directions to car park clear and direct

Cons
The sink is tiny, so small that to wash your face you have to stand sideways on, and either your legs or the floor still get soaked.
Size of breakfast, the full English is not enough to keep you going for the day, you need all the additional buffet options on top.
Black mould on parts of the shower tiling
No parking on site, and parking is a general uncovered, unstaffed parking lot (although I think it does have security cameras)

My partner and I wanted to treat ourselves to a few days away after he had been serving away for six months so we wanted this to be special. We chose Harington's as it looked very individual and a far cry from the cheap and cheerful uniform chain hotels. Sadly there was only one room left for us to book which was a normal size double right at the top of the hotel. The room was small but lovely and the stairs were good exercise before and after our fabulous breakfast. We are used to a king size bed so although we were a little cramped, for two nights it wasn't a problem. The ensuite was tiny but very well done indeed. The location was superb for our three day break and all the staff very polite and helpful. On reading other reviews that contain negative points about the stairs and character of the building, please ingnore those unless you are lazy or physically unable to do the stairs, the building is charming and very well preserved and brought into the 21st centuary without losing the original character. We hope to return to Harington's again but will make sure we get a king size next time.

I wanted a central location in Bath and this hotel was that. it was well appointed and wonderfully laid out. We met friends in the lounge for drinks, about 9 of us before setting out for dinner and we were well taken care of and we were very comfortable in smallish lounge. Room was excellent and ensuite bath room was perfect. We were room 9 but the stairs were not too difficult. Jullian carried the luggage up, checked us in, made drimks, answered dinner queries and was top notch in service. Worse part was parking was a distance. Maybe they could valet for someone who sets this arrangement ahead of time. We would of paid extra I should think. thanks for the memories, Jullian!

We spent 3 nights at Harington's in January. Chose the hotel because of the convenient downtown location and good Trip Advisor reviews. The rate was £108.00 for a superior double, including the excellent breakfast with many choices, cold and hot. The last morning I indulged in the "Full English Breakfast" including sausage, bacon, black pudding, tomato, mushroom, eggs because I figured they would do it well. I was not disappointed: it was nicely prepared and presented and not greasy at all. Best bacon I have had in the UK. (Beware of the cheap breakfasts advertised by pubs!)
The hotel is very clean and freshly done up. Our room, on the third floor, was very attractively furnished and comfortable. We had to go up steps to the sparkly new bathroom, which worried us a bit, but we dealt with it just fine. We are still able to carry our bags up and down stairs, but the lack of an elevator could definitely be a problem for some.
The location was great, just off the major shopping street and we found good restaurants nearby.
Bath is a lovely small city, great things to see in every direction. We took the free, 2 hour "Mayor of Bath's Honorary Civic Walking Tour" which gave us an excellent overview of the major sights.
We would definitely stay here again, but want to make it clear that this is an old building with lots of levels and steps and no lift. Very charming but not suitable for everyone.

The room was comfortable and clean; the staff were helpful and pleasant. The location is ideal for visiting the centre of Bath. We had a great night's sleep and a very good cooked breakfast. We are planning to go back.
