“Charming little hotel, right in the middle of town”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 May 2014

With less than 20 rooms in the entire hotel, this is a gem of a stay. Litterally one road back from the main shopping street(s), the hotel retains all the charm of a family owned business, with all the efficiency of a large brand. Since this is an "old" building, dont expect large rooms; but they are, nevertheless, very comfortable and well equiped. Some of the fittings were work/tired; it made no difference to our stay, but probably revealed more about how difficult it is to keep everything upto scratch and operational.

Breakfast was good. We arrived late to the sitting, so much of the continental buffet had gone, but the cooked breakfast came promptly, freshly prepared and very satisfying.

Since parking in Bath is so hard, I urge anyone with a car to pre-book parking. This is facilitated by providing the guest on arrival with a parking permit for the closest open public car park, in a reserved space. Less than a 5 min walk. You can drop your bags off before collecting the pass and get the car when packing up; leaving it "parked" on the small cobbled street in front of the hotel.

Very friendly staff - makes all the difference and super location. Well worth a return visit.

Room Tip: If budget permits, upgrade to the Superior Queensize Double (two singles joined).

Dear DavidB_GB, Thanks for your kind words. It is great that you felt we were able to deliver and warm and personal service along with the right amount of professionalism. This is something we really try to achieve here at Harington's. Parking can be an issue in Bath, especially at busy times, this is why we always recommend to our customers to book at parking permit. This will help eliminate the stress of searching Bath for a parking space. Many Thanks Peter

We recently stayed in Harington's for a two night midweek stay. It was our second time staying there and our experience was just as good as the first. We arrived around 11 am we were ablt to get straight into our room. I guess that was it was midweek and we were not expecting it but it was appreciated as we had an early start. We stayed in a room on the top floor and it was perfect. The staff were so friendly and could not have been more helpful. Highly recommended for a stay.

Room Tip: It's a small hotel but the top floor room is the best. But they are all good.

Our first time to Bath and what a lovely hotel! Location was perfect - meant we could leave the car for 2 days (via their efficient pre-booked parking system!) and explore the whole city on foot. Rooms were comfortable, clean and exactly what we needed. The staff were lovely - so attentive and nothing was ever too much trouble. We shall certainly be recommending to our friends and already looking to come back again soon! :-)

Dear eb 1991, thanks for your positive comment on your stay. Great to see you had such a good weekend staying with us at Harington's. There is always a great buzz around the city on weekends with people out having a great time in our wonderful city. There are so many wonderful restaurants and bars to enjoy at night and so many interesting things to do and see during the day, you will never be bored. Harington's central location again is ideal for experiencing the very best Bath has to offer. Many Thanks Peter

This was our first visit to Bath and this hotel was a fantastic base for sightseeing and shopping and eating. It was central to everything and was an oasis of comfort and calm after a busy day.We loved our room that was over three floors really quirky. There was some noise on Saturday night but no more than any other city we have stayed in. The staff were helpful and friendly and the breakfast certainly set us up for the day. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hopefully will return.

Dear Laynne,

Thank for your very positive review of your stay. I am glad that you enjoyed your first visit to Bath and to Harington's Hotel.

Room 14 as you say is a very quirky room and has many positive remarks from guest. All of our room have recently been individually refurbished.

As you say we are lucky with our location being right in the heart of Bath but in a small side street, which does make the hotel fell like a little oasis of calm.

Thank you for your kind remarks on the staff and the breakfast, I will be sure to pass these on. I do hope we have the pleasure of welcoming you again in the future.

Kind Regards

Julian

This hotel was recommended to us by friends and we were not disappointed. We booked on the morning of our stay. I'd seen a room on the website I liked the look of and although initially the room was booked when we arrived to check in the lady on reception had managed to secure the room we wanted. The room itself was very clean and the bed very comfy. This hotel is down a tiny cobbled side street but everything is on its doorstep and within walking distance. The hotel has reserved parking for hotel guests a couple of minutes away so you can park the car and not have to worry. We only stayed the night but the breakfast the next morning was really nice and you can have whatever you like from the healthy option of cereals and fruit to a full cooked breakfast which is what we had and would definitely recommend you try this. They also have a machine from which you can make your own fresh orange juice. We couldn't find fault with this hotel and wished we had stayed another night. We will be recommending this hotel to friends and if we have the chance to visit Bath again, this is where we'll be booking to stay.
